Applying LeanWolf's BSW mesh to Fadedshadow589's molten glass weapon
Description and credits
I made this patch for my own use, but thought I'd share it. I have obtained permission from LeanWolf to use his model, but as of this writing, Fadedshadow has yet to get back to me. However, I don't actually use his content, I just tell LeanWolf's mesh to look for it. You still need Fadedshadow's mod. Link below.
As we all know, BSW is indeed in better shape. However, modded weapons will not be remade even if they use vanilla models. Just replacing the mesh also makes it look exactly like the vanilla BSW glass weapon. All I did was edit the LeanWolf's mesh to make it red instead of green (like vanilla glass) and look for a molten texture instead of vanilla.
These are using non-refractive meshes (the refractive and glossy colors are encoded as meshes, not textures), and since molten glass has no refractive power, I couldn't make them work well even though they looked simple. I'd be happy for any help with this, or an explanation as to why I can't just recolor the refractors
At this time, Lean Wolf has only remade daggers, swords, and longswords. Whenever I notice, I update like him. I don't have his skills or patience to make my own models. If anything seems strange, please feel free to contact me. If it's simple I'll try to edit it for you. Maybe it's brighter, less shiny, emits a different color, or you want to add your own texture or model. I could be with Frankenstein, but not make something completely new.

Install
Click and drag my "Meshes" folder into your Skyrim Data folder to merge it with the existing "Meshes" folder. You need to install the fused glass first. You don't need BSW to run this mod/patch, but I highly recommend it. I mean, you're here because you think LeanWolf's model is good, right? Although I suppose you could probably change the shape of glass weapons and molten glass weapons, idk.
You can install before or after BSW, it doesn't matter. it runs in other folder
I don't use NMM as much, but I guess you can double click? without any options or fomod
compatibility
Should be compatible with molten glass. It only changes some of its mesh. As far as the game knows, there's no difference
Permissions
Contact LeanWolf. My mesh uses his model. I'm fine with everything about him :)
Fadedshadow is still the only source of textures. You have to get them from Him. They are not included in this mod.

As we all know, BSW is truly a better shape. However, it will not reshape modded weapons even if they use vanilla models. Just replacing the meshes also makes it look exactly like a vanilla BSW glass weapon. All I did was edit LeanWolf's meshes to shine red instead of green (like vanilla glass) and look for the molten textures instead of vanilla.
These are using the non-refractive meshes (refraction and shine colour are coded to the mesh, not texture), since Molten Glass doesn't have refraction and I wasn't able to get them to play nice, even though it looked straight forward. I'd appreciate any help on this, or an explanation as to why I can't just recolour the refraction
At this time, LeanWolf has only remodelled dagger, sword, and greatsword. I'll update this as he does, whenever I notice. I don't have his skills or patience to make my own models. If anything looks weird, don't hesitate to contact me. I'll try to make an edit for you if it's fairly simple. Maybe shinier, less shiny, shine a different colour, maybe you want to add your own texture or your own model. I can Frankenstein …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
