After a brief hiatus, the film reel appears to have resumed. CFL II has been upgraded in every aspect. With a massive library of 60 different built-in presets, and the ability to create your own looks in minutes using the included ENB tool, CFL II is the easiest way to get realistic, cinematic colors in your games and screenshots.

CFL II features spectacular camera lens emulation, film grain, 50 different film stocks, and 10 custom color grades, all of which are optionally toggleable and selectable in-game and available right out of the box. Gone are the days of manually editing external text files to make changes to CFL Look Pack. CFL II features 6 new appearance packs, each containing 10 presets, for a total of 60 presets, with more to come in the future.

The CFL II is equally suited to gaming and screencasting, and has all the tools you need to perfectly shape your images to your liking. All effects are optional and switchable, such as letterbox/pillarbox (cinematic black bars) effects. Nothing is set in stone and you have full control over your post-processing effects pipeline.

Every preset in CFL II is brand new and made from scratch for the new version. The presets are divided into 6 different Look Packs. First, there's the CFL II standard package, which includes several modern movie stocks and several classic stocks. Other packs include Classic, Bleak, Mono and Adyss Collections, each with their own unique theme, purpose and feel.

CFL II offers an excellent Photo Suite for screen seekers who want to capture the look of scanned photos. It features 12 light leaks, 12 photo frames, 6 photo damage simulations and 8 dirt overlay variations. In the shot below, Light Leak 9, Photo Frame 6 and Photo Damage Mode 2 were used to give the impression of a paper photo taken with a cheap lens that was starting to wear out.

Another screen feature feature returned from the original CFL is the synthetic mesh overlay. For CFL II, it has been completely rewritten and greatly improved. Includes 5 grid types; Rule of Thirds, Golden Ratio, Golden Ratio/Thirds Blend, Simplified Phi Ratio and Golden Mean.

Overlays can be placed on the screen in 3 different ways; black, white and exposed. In the shot below, white mode is used.

Additionally, if you wish, you can now use the "Restricted Letterbox/Pillar" feature with Letterbox/Pillarbox using the "Synthetic Grid" overlay. You can see in the shot below that the grid is completely constrained to fit within the letterbox boundaries. This also works with Pillar Box crops, which have strips on the sides.

CFL II features an innovative UI to help users learn to use ENB and also provides a semi-interactive preset selection list. In the image below, page 1 of the tutorial is shown. This will be run the first time you install CFL II.

In the next image, an interactive preset selection list is displayed. You can easily change presets or change to other CFL Look Pack using ENB controls.

CFL II has built-in SMAA + FXAA. This is completely optional and can be easily disabled from the "TECHNIQUE" drop-down list of "ENBEFFECTPOSTPASS.FX". This feature has been included due to some minor issues when using TAA and some effects included in CFL II. However, it can safely run CFL II if you wish.

If you want to dig deeper, you can adjust some external features by editing the settings in "CFL_Settings.txt" in the "enbseries" folder.

To install CFL II, follow these simple steps:

Download the latest ENB binaries for Skyrim: SE from ENBDev.com

Copy only d3d11.dll and d3dcompiler_46e.dll from the ENB zip file to the root Skyrim: SE game directory

Copy the contents …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
