HUD VR
Compatible with SkyrimVR 1.4.15 and SKSE64 VR Build 2.0.10 and above
describe
This mod adds HUD information that Skyrim was severely lacking.
This mod displays information about what the player is targeting.
To get more information about the object, I always bother with:
pick up items
Open inventory
Find items in inventory
Take a look at the statistics
Now I can target an object like a weapon, armor, or material and see information about that object.
Plus, I can see how much I'm carrying, so I don't have to guess later if I realize I'm carrying too much.
feature
The following items have been added to the HUD:
Carrying weight and maximum carrying weight (only for items that can be picked up or harvested)
Player's gold (only when targeting something that can be picked up or harvested)
Current weapon damage and difference (only when aiming the weapon)
Current armor level and difference (only when targeting armor)
Known ingredient effects (only when targeting ingredients or flora)
The amount of the target item already in the player's inventory (only if the target is an item that can be picked up or harvested, and the item exists in the inventory)
Read book icon
Enchanting weapons and armor
Effects of other spell items, such as scrolls, spellbooks, and staves
Armor weight class
Trick Book Tips Before Reading
weight ratio
Shrine blessings from the shrine
Added enemy level indicator
Known enchantment indicators
MCM options
Enable or disable different widgets
Displays enemy level and soul level (Ruthless)
Require
- This Mod requires SKSE64 (VR Build) 2.0.10 or higher available here.
- Skyrim VR version 1.4.15
Optional
- It is recommended that you use SkyUI for VR so that you can modify MCM settings.
Install
It is recommended that you choose to download and install the Mod Manager
Note: Skyrim VR handles asset load ordering differently. Any assets added specifically for Skyrim VR built specifically for Bethesda will be loaded after the user mod assets packaged into bsa files. Therefore, VR specific files covered by this mod are installed as loose files. Credit for this information goes to aers here thanks!
Notice:
Papyrus' script is very simple. Most of the code implementation is in the SKSE plugins and SWF files provided with this module. Papyrus script is only used to pass parameters to widgets. There is no OnUpdate event.
Clear
Theoretically, this mod can be removed at any time. Because there are no update events and very lightweight scripts, and most of the logic is in the SKSE plugin. However, the best practice with any mod is to keep it installed.
compatibility
In order for this mod to work in VR, the vanilla activation flip SWF must be modified because the vanilla stage size is too small to accommodate all the moreHUD data. Therefore, this mod is incompatible with any mod that modifies "Data\Interface\vr\activaterollover.swf". Currently, I'm not aware of any mods that modify this file.
Known issues
- Sometimes the total armor level does not match the armor level of vanilla found in the inventory menu 1. I suspect there is a rounding issue with the displayed value of vanilla. The value shown by this mod is equal to the total armor rating of all equipped armor, so who knows.
- There seems to be a bug in the vanilla game where when a bolt (DG) is equipped, the bow's damage is calculated as (bow damage + bolt damage). Obviously this is not correct and this mod's calculations cannot do this and therefore will not work with vanilla's
- Likewise, when aiming a bow and the player has a crossbow equipped, the vanilla game calculates the weapon difference using the following formula (target bow damage + (equipped bolt damage (*2?)) - (equipped crossbow damage + equipped) therefore damaged.
- Weights for unharvested ingredients are not shown because I didn't …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
