About this mod Machine translation
The fortress is owned by the Empire or Tempest at the start, not by the bandits. Or you can manually flip their alliance.
What is this for -
Only the Civil War fort will be transformed.
When You're Gone - No Robber Fortress
Simple edit for all forts, except Fort Hagstad, to be owned by the Empire or Tempest instead of Bandits.
There's a civil war going on and they don't even control the fort? You mark down the little battle map where you have a fort.
When You're Gone - Civil War
Add a chest with a book to each Jarl Longhouse near the mage's stuff to manually switch the fortress to Storm, Imperial, or Bandit.
When you're gone - no bandits and neutral whiterun
- No bandit version, but bandits were replaced with whiterun guards. Just disabled stuff and removed stuff from activation tags.
Why use this mod?
After you leave Bruma, the outstretched, vigilant, bleak civil war continues. Maybe your character isn't fighting a civil war in this game, but you still need more soldiers, or it might feel weird to have bandits controlling a fortress during a civil war.
future plans
If skse is released then I would consider removing the books, adding mcm support, and maybe work on some script to randomly switch ownership every x days. If I could do this without skse I would get it.
It's probably not a good idea to do the Civil War questline with the "While You're Gone - Civil War" version and switch the Stormcloaks/Imperial Bastion out of their default roles.

What this does-
Only changes civil war forts.
While you were gone- No bandit forts
Simple edit of all forts, except Fort Hraggstad, to be owned by imperials or stormcloaks instead of bandits.

Why use this mod?
While you were gone doing beyond bruma, reach, vigilant, darkend the civil war continued. Maybe your character isn't doing the civil war this playthrough, but you still want more soldiers around, or maybe it feels odd that bandits control forts in the middle of a civil war.
Future plans
If skse gets released, out of alpha, I'll look into removing the books, adding mcm support, and maybe work on some script to randomly switch the ownership every x days. If i can do it without skse i'll get to it.
Probably not a good idea to do the civil war quest lines with the "while you were gone-civil war" version and switch the stormcloak/imperial forts from their default.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
