About this mod Machine translation

Embark on an adventure with a boat trip.

Overview

For all you non-fast travelers (and everyone else), here's a module that lets you cruise the Skyrim River by boat.

You'll find two lines: Western and Eastern, each with a wooden ferry that takes you to 15 different places. You'll also find a third line to the north. This one is a little different as it guides you from Solitude to Yngol Barrow and vice versa in real time.

West: Abandoned Hut, Solitude, Morthal, Crabber's Shanty, Dragon Bridge, Karthwasten and Reachcliff Cave.

East: Yngol Barrow, Windhelm, Mixwater Mill, Whiterun, Riverwood, Half-Moon Mill, Ivarstead and Riften.

See the map included in the archive for details.

During your travels, you will be faced with various events presented through message boxes, with multiple choices and device dependencies.

Please note that before each trip you must unload the boat from the dock by untying the ropes.

feature

Quickly start the ship's animation when you leave. Fast travel starts after a few seconds (the entire journey will be very difficult due to rapids, rocks and waterfalls).

On your arrival you will receive a trip report. You will encounter some minor incidents, the main one is that you need to install safety kit on your boat, otherwise you may be arrested by the river guards and asked to pay a fine of 1000 Septims.

Sellers of these safety kits are in Whiterun (Bannered Mare - Barnard), Solitude (quayside, on board - Brunei), Windhelm (quayside, against the wall - Bruno) and Morthal (outside, against the wall - Agatha). They cost around 600 Septims, have low speech levels and no mods. They are also sometimes used in hotels.

You have the opportunity to use safety kit during your trip as Skyrim has many rapids. There's a 20% chance of this, so you might ask yourself if you're willing to risk a fine or pay for expensive security tools...

You don’t need to discover where you want to go. Maybe in a future version since I've written the conditional. Currently, I don't think it's necessary as the safety kit balances the mod and you'll think twice before taking a boat trip. The cabin is still very useful.

You cannot use these ships while in combat or during combat.

Each ship has a small orange light and lantern in the center to make it easier to identify as a ferry.

Steel cable! All ships are now connected to moorings, walkways or subsea poles. Before sailing, you must loosen the rope. To do this, you must press "E" near the connection point of the rope. You'll find a lantern in this place to help you (it's a trigger box because I want to force the player to go somewhere to prepare his ship). So, again, you have to stand in a specific area and look at the rope you want to loose; there's no "activate this" hypertext. Please note that you have 20 seconds to set sail before the rope connects the boat to the dock. This is to prevent mistakes, and to speak in a very friendly way, let's say it's because Skyrim's rivers are powerful and can take your ship away!

You'll enjoy a 30 second 3 way trip from Riverwood (to anywhere) :) I've been playing around with the script to see how I could implement a full live journey and it looks pretty good. However, at the end of your Riverwood journey, you'll see the first problem: falling! But here, fast travel will save you. Um...

Coastal line. In Solitude and Yngol Barrow you'll see two new ships that glow red instead of orange. These boats will guide you through Skyrim's North Shore in real time. 30 minutes can take a long time, and you can purchase a Swiftness device that lets you choose whether you'd like to travel quickly to your destination. However, if you do this, you won't be able to stop during your trip because if you choose to travel in real time, you will be asked if you wish to make multiple stops in the surrounding area. Note that you can open the world map during these journeys. Don't fast travel while you're on the ship!

Travel light; you only have a few seconds t …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
