Convert to SSE notes

I'm not the original creator of this mod, I just converted, updated and uploaded this for SSE. The mod is still 100% as mod author DidymusEi created it. I just added new screenshots.

Convert as required. I've added screenshots to tell if the mod is installed, and to show the MCM menu.

I haven't tested the mod yet as I haven't encountered a vampire, but once I do I'll update with more screenshots.

About Mod

True Death - Vampire Killing Mod comes in two forms: Basic/Immortal.

= =Basic

Instead of the boring way Vampires die in Vanilla Skyrim, this mod adds two different visual options for vampire death: Gory, which leaves nothing but a pile of bones and slime left behind by the vampire. Dust, the vampire turns into a pile of dust. Select the desired effect via the MCM menu.

=Immortal=

True death versions include vampire immortality. NPC vampires cannot be killed unless you get a kill. Or B. weaken them first with silver weapons/ammo or two special spells.

Once weakened, use stakes to finish the job. You only have 30 seconds to release them before they recover. This makes vampires far more

Dangerous and require you to carry tools with you to deal with them or risk being killed or driven away. Wooden stakes and silver arrowheads/bolts can be crafted at the forge. Save your silver and fire salt.

=How=

  • Use silver arrows/arrows, any silver weapon or spell Sun Fire or Vampire's Curse to weaken the vampire.
  • Once the vampires are on their knees, activate them with equipped stakes.
  • When you complete Vampire Forever in the bloody/dusty display, a small animation should play and be viewed.

=Install=

Extract all contents in the file into the skyrim/data folder. Or use Vortex or Mod Organizer for convenience.

It doesn't matter if you install only basic or not, not both!

=Uninstall=

Remove everything you installed from the zip or mod installer.

As long as a mod uses the default vampire match, it should theoretically work.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
