About this mod Machine translation

Turned the Mistwatch Dungeon boss (a bandit commander) into a follower while giving her a unique look and inventory (I'm close to vanilla for both) and also made her marryable.

This mod turns the Bandit Chief in Mistwatch Tower into a follower and a unique NPC rather than a generic dungeon boss bandit, changing her display name in the process. I was looking for something like this, but it wasn't covered by WARP yet and the other mods I'd seen had some issues, so I made one from scratch.

Important information about this mod:

If you don't own a house, don't marry her. She has no shelter and trying to live with her in her home will result in her missing and a miscellaneous task added to your diary that you cannot complete.

I haven't changed her importance, which means she can and will fight unless you make her necessary or protected using a follower mod or another NPC editor (or even a creation kit if you prefer). I recommend using EFF, but AFT should do the same thing.

Less important information about this mod:

There are some minor spoilers, if you care about a minor plot twist being spoiled and not playing through Mistwatch before I suggest you save, clear it, then install it and play the save you made before clearing Mistwatch.

I've been testing this for a day or so so I by no means know all the possible issues this could have, Skyrim is a inherently buggy game and I've seen some unexpected and occasionally unexplainable things happen. I can tell you if everything I tested (conversation, marriage, combat and dismissal) works, if you don't have her somewhere else as her home, she should be waiting in the top room of Mistwatch after being dismissed.

Well, I've been spoiler friendly so far, but here's the official SPOILER ALERT, Mistwatch's boss is involved in the "Forget Fjola" mission as the main subject, believed to be the hunted wife. So, yes, she is Fjola, and can resolve things peacefully through situations where she says she owes you. I think this would be a great way for Bethesda to make another minion, but for whatever reason, that's what I do.

If you want to argue about how justified it is for Dragonborn and gangsters to kidnap their friends, I'll be happy to discuss that with you. I will say up front that there is a note in Mistwatch where the gangsters think she will be very angry when they find one of the prisoners beaten to death. This tells me that she treats the ransom racket as a business and not to satisfy some violent desire. That doesn't make it better, but it does make it different. I will also say that not everyone plays a noble hero, and some may have worse roles than Fjola.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
