About this mod Machine translation
This mod adds an inn off Whiterun Street, which is a stone's throw from Whiterun Stables.
Enlightenment
I was inspired by two other motos, Immersive City Gate and Not So Fast - Main Quest. For the first case, entering whiterun is expensive for those who are not logged in (especially if you also use the Economy or Scarcity (Mod)), which is not possible at night due to the drawbridge. The second mode takes longer to become Sani in Whiterun. For players who never fast travel, they are using a mod that requires you to sleep (even sleeping to gain XP). A nearby inn is in order. I decided it was time to learn how to do that.
So what is this?
The model added an inn off Whiterun Street, a stone's throw from Whiterun Stables. This is my first module so I kept it simple while I was learning how to use the creation kit. The hotel is based on the Drunken Hunter layout, which brings the benefits of a communal cooking pot (also key for survival mode users!) to the expanded backend. Outside, I created four new farmers who work the fields around Whitrun, and also built a new shelter for them behind the inn so they would have somewhere to sleep at night.
I've also done some navel clearing on the main east-west street south of Vitlen, so all characters should be able to get through it with less chance of getting stuck.
Install
This mod uses BSA, so installation should be very simple either manually (unzip and place all files in the data folder) or using your favorite mod manager.
Patches, optional and recommended files
If you use:
The Wind Blows - Running Mill Inn uses a custom logo, so I needed to add some data to make it work with the custom grid of bits. Otherwise, you'll see the Drunkard Hunter logo. As a bonus, the exterior lanterns will also flutter in the wind. (Make sure you are using "Blow in the Wind", SSE.esp)
Provincial courier service takes the cutting room floor. My farmers crossed the border between these two mods and they walked to the inn, so I created a patch that fixed a glitch in their encounter. This patch is not required to run Mill Inn.
If you use:
Lush Sky Grass plug-in users should install the grass plant landscape fix and its Verdant tweak plus it. No additional patches are required. (There is grass in my screenshot.)
If using:
Enhanced Lighting and FX - An optional VFX layer for the interior of the Inn based on the stunning work of ELFX. (There is a close-up in the screenshot)
Sounds of the Sky - New sound effects added using SOS, providing an optional SFX layer for the interior of the inn.
Immersion Laundry - I love this model so I want to add some to my laundry. (Close up in screenshot)
This department will work with:
Better Roads to Skyrim - The hotel's fence connects directly to the new fence set up by the mod.
Hotel room rates - see the mod's webpage for details.
Load order and compatibility
The running mill inn should be put behind grass & landscape restoration. Use Loot to ensure that each inn patch or add-on is placed below their main file. However, you must manually place the sound of my sky -on below all other patches. Belly button patch provincial courier service and cutting room floor should be placed after them, and immersive citizens if you use.
This mode extensively edits the area southwest of Whiterun Stables (Whitrun Stables), so any mode editing that cell will naturally be incompatible. MODS that edit adjacent cells may cause conflicts. This module includes navigation mesh improvements provided by USSEP for this unit.
it's not perfect
Issues you may notice (if you know how to fix them, please contact me!):
For realism's sake, two hotel staff will rent you a room. However, they won't know what the other person did, so if you talk to them on the same night, they will both take your money.
People would use an invisible tanker to help themselves and once they started, they would be stuck there for a while.
Hotel staff do not close their bedroom doors when they go to bed.
The inn's se …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
