Mhulcazn - Resdayni Dwemer Tone Research Facility
Oh, what a discovery! The reports of looters are true! I had to retrace my steps back to the north, but it was definitely worth it when I saw the sun staring down at these majestic towers... I couldn't wait to see the look on Mathendis' face when I told her this! The ruins are built in the exact same style that we found in Morrowind. How strange!
describe
I'm back with another one and I'm back to E E P D E E D D Y Y E X P E R E E C E™!
Mhulchazn, the home of my series of knowledgeable players, is an ancient Dwemer ruin high in the northern reaches of Velothis, built in Morrowind style Dwemer architecture. It is located on a ridge above the hunting camp north of Narzulbur. Ostensibly a research facility, a ruin of underground energy - just enough to keep its halls cool against the cold mountains outside. Featuring a detailed backstory and great attention to detail for my other modes, once again great care has been taken to ensure maximum immersion and lore friendliness. Each object has its own story.
It's not entirely clear what the Dwemer of Morrowind were doing in Skyrim...but one of its last residents, a Telvanni researcher, made a discovery and compiled some notes that intrepid adventurers will discover, detailing the ruins' origins and purpose.
Mhulchazn not only features full crafting lanes - blacksmithing, smelting, tanning, enchanting (+staves), alchemy, cooking (+oven), and even spiders - but there's also a new spell that lets you discover random destruction that will teleport you to the depths. There's also an optional (breadcrumb, nothing special) quest to return to the previous inabitant's diary, as well as a few secrets. All containers should be stored securely, but if I've missed any please let me know.
Mhulcazn has various assets. The most obvious are the Morrowind Dwemer properties, but there are also some Dunmer properties and some gorgeous furniture that previous residents brought with them. This home is mainly for mage characters, but anyone will do it: it's not super themed like other homes.
Making Mhulchazn is a real challenge. The specific nature of the Morrowind style assets I used and their reluctance to visually contrast with vanilla Skyrim's assets allowed me to be more creative. I hope my hard work paid off and you enjoy this funky player.
Install
as usual. Install via any mod manager, place it anywhere in your load order.
I highly recommend you use DyndoLOD to regenerate the LOD after installation so you can get views like this (see that tower in front of that big mountain?)
uninstall
Uninstall via mod manager. You know the drill now, right?
If you make them for this it will also regenerate your LOD so they don't appear after the tower disappears.
compatibility
It will conflict with mods that edit the same area, such as Falmeroon or specifically Dragonborn of Legborn. Also, as usual, SMIM can cause some confusion (though much less than Dol Khazun). I don't use it myself so I can't really make a patch. If anything goes horribly wrong, just disable it via the console. However, it is absolutely safe to use.
Known issues
So far no. If you encounter any problems please let me know and be as descriptive as possible. It really helps me learn and bring better patterns to you guys.
No, I won't be making an Oldrim version. Converting an SSE mesh to Oldrim requires tone architecture and everyone who knows how to use it is lost.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
