About this mod Machine translation
SSE port of the Follow Mercer task module.
My husband asked me to port the fun Mod Follow Mercer for him. Since no one has it, and the permissions say you can do what you want with the mod just by using credit and letting the author know, I decided to clean it up using the latest version of xEdit and upload it. I also fixed some navmesh issues so that followers can now follow you in all dungeons, and generated and added missing facegen meshes for custom NPCs. Otherwise I haven't edited the mod. Make sure you carry a lot of weight, or do a lot of traveling. There is a lot of loot.

TG forwards!
So what did Mercer do with all the stuff he took from the vault? I thought it would be fun to find it, so I made this mod.
describe
Two new quests will lead you through 9 new dungeons; 5 large and 4 small, each in a variety of styles and containing enough loot to make up for those 25 years of profits Mercer stole.
The mission begins by reading a note (an old note) on Mercer's desk in Mercer's basement at Riftweed Manor. (Based on the Gray Fox bust and the plan to shoot "Eye of Falmer.") As it says in Discovery Magazine, I recommend waiting until you're done with Bryn and Karliah before checking out the new dungeon.
I have a lot of questions about adult content. The adult content warning is only there because the rules state "Files that contain or extend graphic violence in the game must be marked as adult." There is currently no more adult content than in vanilla Skyrim! This file is marked adult only due to the wording of the rules, not because I added adult content. In other words, the adult levels are a continuation of the game levels, not any levels I created.
The location is:
Erknthamz, located between the Druadach fortress and the deep folk crossing.
Bonestrewn Cave in the Eastern Fortress, just below Bonestrown Crest.
Blackmore Castle in Whiterun, located between Silent Hill and Dasman Rock.
Rift Valley Aalto Mine, one entrance is located north of Shor's Watchtower, and the other entrance is on the south side of Northwind Summit.
Barrow Cove, Haafingar, most northwest corner, on the beach.
Cave of Hearts, Falkreath, Twilight Tomb N.
The sunken ruins of Morthal, a small town N near Falion's night hangout.
The Duarknd Mine, located on the northwest coast of an island west of Yngvild.
Ngalft, Winterhold, on the beach of Snow Veil Sanctum on Glacier E.
Install
Just put followingmercer.esp and followingmercer.bsa into the Skyrim/Data folder. Activate the .esp using the Mod Manager of your choice.
a note
This is my first mod. I know very little about programming or anything like that, only what I recall from a 101 type course ten years ago. I basically taught myself. Any kind of constructive criticism or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for checking out my little mod! I love you all!
Tips and Help
Can't find the key? Here are the locations (obviously SPOILERS!):
In Irknthamz:
Key to the Depth Lab: On the middle dresser between three identical sets. The door is unlocked. The dresser is illuminated and there is a gem next to the keys, both of which sit on a small cushion on top of the metal dresser.
Two key factors to making progress in the lab: One is being in a big room with Spiders and Superman. It's on the outside of the desk pen with the light, on the far chest. The other one is in the room with the dwarven spiders and the grand staircase, behind the metal door. It was on a table in the far corner of the room, with some locks, apples, diamonds, and other miscellaneous items on it, and the beam was roughly aimed at it.
Elevator Key: On the glowing pedestal past the Centurion Window, near the Sapphire. The other one is after you lift the elevator back up, next to the candle on the right.
Mercer's Key (optional): On his body.
In the Bonestrown Ruins: Behind the small drop ceiling in the mines and underneath a low hall, there are some gems, mead and a safe with a enchantment and alchemy …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
