And, yes! There is a version with only septims and no medes. It's called copper in your pocket, check the papers.

It all started when, as I was playing Skyrim again after so many years, a problem cropped up and refused to leave it:

How is it possible that over 200 years after the death of Uriel Septim VII, royal coins still represent Tiber Septim?

The Meide dynasty has held the throne for nearly 185 years. Furthermore, as we are all well aware by now, the Platinum Protocol severely punishes any worship of Talos, Tiber Septim rising. So, knowing this, why does Tamriel's main currency still represent Tiber Septim?

Titusmede as a new emperor would ensure that his name and dynasty would be featured on imperial currency.

Nothing is more harmful than keeping an irrelevant and unquestionably great ruler in people's wallets and memories for too long while a new dynasty is still struggling to gain legitimacy. Even if we thought the coin could serve as a representation of Talos, then Thalmor certainly wouldn't be happy that it's still circulating.

I posted this question on Reddit and Reddit, but it seems like I'm the only one who cares about this difference.

My nerd fixation is alone and sad that I have to keep playing a coin I don't like because of its obvious anachronisms.

Then, a week later, Arthmoor released a small texture replacement, making Titus Mede's coin a first.

This means the world to me. Not only because my question was answered by a modeling artist I greatly admire, but because this single texture suddenly reignited my modeling flame.

After 3 days (and nights) of fine-tuning, cleaning, upgrading and fixing, I can finally present to you my "Medes in your pocket" super patch,

Two additional mods that I absolutely love:

Tamriel Coin by Force70

and exchange currencies, provided by uni_SL/UNI00SL

This patch is completely free and comes in two flavors.

You just need to select and download the one you like, and you can install or delete them at will even during the saving process.

Very important:

This patch is designed to be fully compatible with coins from >> Tamriel Hardcore Edition Version 2 Script Free <<.

If you use Force70's all-in-one installer, make sure you install the correct version of the mod, any other version will not work as expected!

The light version only requires Tamriel's coins to work.

It defines a main ESP: Coins for Tamriel V2 SSE Hardcore Edition.esp (no script version)

feature:

All the gameplay changes that CoT originally brought have remained unchanged: 3 different imperial coins, new norse and dwemeri coins generated in ruins;

A completely new visual experience that fully conforms to the original mod concept;

Clear textures and mesh paths provide better visual comfort.

In-game changes:

Tamriel's main currency is now copper mede, septim have become a very rare and valuable coin, or disappeared entirely in favor of gold mede (your choice);

You may also stumble across some rare silver medes. Due to technical limitations, silver and gold coins are not integrated with the economy in the light version and you have to trade with merchants;

Text conversations take this change into account and you'll pay people when they ask for money;

CoT's Nordic coins have been renamed to "Dovahs";

Dwemeri coins from CoT have been renamed to "Dumacs".

The lightweight version makes the coin weightless.

This is the recommended patch if you just want to add flavor to the game and play with thousands of coins in your pocket …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
