A little magic at Lakeview Manor
Inspired by Winterhold and Winterhold School of Magic, I wanted to add a more magical feel to my game.
I've always played a mage character, and Lakeview Manor is one of my favorite houses in the game and my mage home away from Winterhold.
The main purpose of this mod is to add a mage who sells all the uneducated staff and heart stones needed to use the staff enchanter.
Therefore, it is a companion model to my Lakeview Manor Staff Enchanter (although the two can be used independently of each other).
In addition to the merchants, the mod also adds a fully functional training dummy.
Once installed, the mage and his zone will be immediately available; no "Hearthfire" style crafting required. :feature:
A mage merchant who sells the spells you'd expect from a merchant, unenchanted staff, mind stones, soul gems, and other items.
A training dummy that you can use to cast spells, shoot arrows, or attack with weapons to train these skills.
Magicka next to the training dummy restores fonts and restores magic when activated.
Train a virtual reset button. This button will reset the training dummy's position to its original position if moved. See Frequently Asked Questions: Frequently Asked Questions::Questions:
My statue/training dummy floats! :answer:
Update to/use version 4
Starting with version 4, I implemented a reset button next to the training dummy that will reset its position to its original position.
But why does it float? Your mod is broken and the button is a lazy fix! :answer:
Skyrim has some bugs related to NPCs, and they are considered not to be NPC functions, but to be something else. Take the Mannequin bug for example. Mannequins in Skyrim are stationary NPCs, but sometimes move. The same thing happens with the training dummy, but in this case, it floats. This type of behavior occurs with training dummies, as if the mannequins are actually NPCs with a script telling them to stand still. Presumably when cells are loaded, if the script is not loaded/applied fast enough, they will move like normal NPCs. There's nothing I can do to fix this. I've taken steps to minimize the chance of this happening, but as a backup I implemented a button to reset the dummy. That's not laziness. The mod is not bugged.

A small magical touch for Lakeview manor
Inspired by Magical College of Winterhold and Winterhold Restored I wanted to add a touch more of a magical feel to my game.
I always play a mage character and Lakeview Manor is one of my favorite house locations in the game and its my mage home away from Winterhold.
The main purpose of this mod was to add a mage who sold all the unenchanted staffs and Heartstones required to use the Staff Enchanter.
As such it is a companion mod to my Lakeview Manor Staff Enchanter (although both can be used independently of each other).
Aside from the merchant the mod also adds in a fully functional training dummy.
The mage and his area will be available as soon as you install; no "Hearthfire" style crafting required.:Features:
A Mage merchant who sells spells, unenchanted staffs, Heartstones, soul gems and other items that you'd expect from such a merchant.
A training dummy which you can cast spells, fire arrows or attack with a weapon to train those skills up.
A Magicka restore font next to training dummy which restores magicka when activated. …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
