describe

===========

When you open a book in the game, the text "~(read)" will be added to the front of the book title. This does two things.

First, it tells you the books you've read.

Second, all the books you read will be sorted to the bottom of your inventory.

Q: What impact does this mod have on the mission statement?

Answer: After reading, there will be the word "~(reading)" in the book. Otherwise, the book performs exactly as expected.

Q: What about spell outlines?

A: When you click to get a spell from it, the Spell Outline will be marked as read. This can help you understand which spells you've learned.

Q: Tips book?

A: This book will be marked and you will receive skill points from this book.

Q: Books for other mods?

A: This mod will treat books the same way as the books in the base game. As mentioned above, they will be marked as read and the other effects of the book will still occur. This includes any books added by Bethesda's DLC.

Q: Does this mod mark books I've read before installing it?

A: As of version 1.2.0, it will only work the first time after a clean save or loading a save without mods.

translate

My mod integrates the following languages and will select the correct language based on the language of the game:

English

France

German

spanish

I'm willing to provide other translations. If you are interested in helping or just want this mod in your language, please send me a message.

future plans

============

I plan to add integration with MCM which will add some configuration options to my mod. I don't have a timeline for this feature.

free mods

==================

"Unread Books Glow" by Duggelz - Duggelz and others claim that UBG is incompatible with my mod. However, I have tested and found that using both mods together is perfectly fine. UBG can be used to further help you find books you haven't read yet.

"Book Covers Skyrim" by Daniel Coffey and doccdr - Numerous improvements to the textures used by books and other readables in Skyrim. It increases the resolution of textures and adds unique textures to various special books.

Any improvements to the bookshelf module.

Incompatibility

===============

"Deja Vu - I've Read It" by Sagittarius 22 - is almost identical to this mod. I can't guarantee

If you try to use both of our mods at the same time, your game will work fine.

If you know of any other incompatibilities, please let me know.

Known issues or bugs

====================

You will be notified if you read a book from inventory

The book is tagged, but the name does not change when you exit the book. This is just a facelift issue, your inventory screen won't update on its own, closing the inventory screen or deleting something will update the books to the correct names.

Similar to the above, after reading a book in the world, you may notice that the name does not

In pointing the crosshairs at the book, something seemed to have changed. This is also a cosmetic issue, if you point the cursor at the book momentarily the correct name will be displayed.

In the following rare cases, books on the ground may not be marked while reading. If this happens, the three possible solutions are: 1. Pick up the book and read it from your inventory. 2. Leave the area containing the book and re-enter. 3. Open the console and type "StopQuest XjMbarBookAliasQuest" and then "StartQuest XjMbarBookAlia …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
