Small mod adds huge hides to the game as lootable loot for mammoths and giants. ! important! : When updating to a new version, first turn all available leather into leather; save and exit; delete the mod; open the game, make a clean save; close the game and install the new version. This requires new mod work.

What does it do?

Like many people who own and will download this mod, I always felt silly that the vanilla game lacked this feature. Mammoths are one of the most protected and difficult-to-kill animals in the game (especially feral cats), so why shouldn't their death be beneficial? Are you telling me that I got into trouble with two giant berserkers and 2 mammoths killing two tuskers and two mammoths? Sorry Bethesda, but that's not good enough.

This mod adds a lightweight hide to the game, lightweight means that instead of a 10 pound hide compared to many other mods that achieve this, I chose to cut the hide into a few manageable pieces. Mammoths can be dropped from mammoths and giants (in smaller quantities), and can be purchased from vendors and hunters.

Each hide weighs 3, which can go down from 1 to 4 on a mammoth (a higher ratio of 2 to 3), and between 1 and 3 on a bundled giant (2 at a higher speed). They return 4 leather, worth 150 gold (same as vanilla tusks).

When you first install the game using the mod, you should receive a message in the upper right corner stating "You have learned how to skin a mammoth!".

SkyTEST plugin:

With permission from etayorius I made a plugin to add my leather to the baby mammoth in his mod!

Baby mammoths will drop hides at a ratio of 1 to 3, with a higher ratio of 1 to 2, and 3 being rarer.

SkyTEST Addon Plus：

This version is the same as the SkyTEST Addon, but also adds 15 "mammoths" for baby mammoths. Mammoth Steak is added by SkyTEST mod and is not included in the plugin.

compatibility

This mod should be compatible with every other mod. It adds items to a horizontal list and does not overwrite any items, so there is no problem.

MAMMOTH for Kajuan, if you don't have it yet!

SunlarSyrith improves mammoth raiding. I have more features than I personally have due to other mods, and they are much more hidden and harder to manage than mine, not to mention that is broken and not what I want. If you're looking for more than just hiding, I recommend going for their mod.

Arndas' Grindable Mammoth Tusks, are another no-brainer model in my opinion. Especially useful if you don't use the Improved Mammoth Loot.

Haladoon's Mammoth Cheese Retexture, a great twist on the cheese you find at giant campsites. I highly recommend it!
