About this mod Machine translation

This is a new series of main menu replacers designed to fit the style of the game. They are simple but stylish menus, and some change the music to better suit the displayed image and provide a fresh feel to the main menu screen.

Welcome to my mod page for a collection of new main menu replacers. When Skyrim Special Edition launched, I expected the main menu to get a makeover, but it's the same old menu screen we've been staring at for the past 5 years. While building my list of new special edition mods, I decided to go ahead and create some menu replacers so that I can swap them out whenever I get bored.

Each menu is a simple design and stays within the Skyrim theme, so there are no anime dancing girls or Game of Thrones dragons. Some menus also change the music to better suit the image being displayed, which can also refresh the menus when you sift through save files and anything else you like before loading the game. I won't list all the changes here and what music works, you can download the file and see it for yourself, or even watch my YouTube video for a preview. However, they all come from standard Skyrim audio tracks and have been converted to high quality xwm format for the best sound quality.

Please note that these menus are not designed with Creation Club news updates in mind, although some may still work fine. I myself prefer using No More Creation Club News, which not only gets rid of things I don’t understand, but also leaves me more room for creativity. The fog has also been removed on some menus, but it still works on most designs.

Also note that these are only available for special editions as they are branded on every menu. Depending on how successful this package is, I may create some for Legacy if there are enough requests. I also plan to add more menus in the future.

It's a simple installation process, use the mod manager button to install. You can also install them manually, but anyway just make sure nothing else conflicts with this mod file. Considering the small number of files included, it doesn't make sense to add it to the BSA either.

Do also note that these are intended for use with Special Edition only, given the branding on each menu. Depending on how successful this pack goes, I may create some for Legacy if there are enough requests. I also plan on adding more menus in the future.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
