I am not the original author of this mod. I've created a Skyrim Special Edition since it was released in the Cathedral License. This mod is not modified from the original in any other way. Lore-friendly custom matches
These custom matches allow you to play a legend-friendly variant of the Banana Race. They have their own unique abilities and backgrounds, and you can modify them with custom textures and meshes for a unique look. The match description comes from the unofficial Elder Scrolls page, which is a huge wiki where you can rock all the lore, plus sticks.
(Note: Iron Orcs and Wood Orcs use the same mesh, texture, and skeleton - just like Colovians and Nibenese.
I need to reassign the assets manually which is tedious. I would leave it until I was in a boring mood.
Until then, hey, you can only play one game at a time, right? )
(Additional Note: Find details for each capability in the included readme or in the readme tab above.)
Ash'Abah (based on Redguards)
The Ash'abah are an ancient and mysterious tribe of Redguards that inhabit the northern wastes of Hammerfell and roam the Alik'r Desert. They are shunned by Redguard society due to their "unholy" interactions with the dead, as they ignore religious taboos and destroy the undead, killing with great skill the honor of their ancestors' return. Against the prevailing distrust of magic, the Ash'abah performed cleansing rituals for tombs and other places where vengeful spirits might appear, including an annual ceremony at the Tu'whacca Throne designed to secure the remainder of the Redguard royal family. The activity was considered blasphemous but was tolerated due to the necessity of its performance. Thus, despite being untouchables, the tribe was still able to survive into the Second Age (some Crowns of the time attributed their extraordinary tenacity to the secret support of some of their predecessors). It is said that they will continue the work started by the three great Ansei who formed Ansei Wards. Despite being banished to waste, the Ash'abah was still taxed.
Special Powers: A soul sword and, of course, protection from the undead. Skillful recovery.
Ashlander (based on Dunmer)
The Ashlanders are Dunmeri nomads who traditionally come from the wilderness of Morrowind. In Merethic times, the Ashlanders and Dunmer were very similar and on equal footing, but since the rise of the First Council and the Great Houses, they have been forced into the poorest and most hostile lands. They travel with their herds and camp in suitable places. Ashland culture is the remnant of the ancestor-worshipping tribal culture that the "civilized" Dunmer left behind.
The disappearance of the Court and the disastrous 4E 5 Red Year eventually caused other Dunmer to abandon widespread worship of the Court and appreciate the Ashlanders retaining their legacy.
Special abilities: Shelter, protection from physical damage. Dunmer resists fire. Be proficient in Alteration.
Reach native (based on Brittany)
The Reachmen, also known as the Wizards of High Rock, are a tribal group composed primarily of Breton ancestry that inhabit the Reach in southwestern Skyrim and the neighboring Western Reach east of High Rock. Their lineage includes not only the Bretons, but also many of the known races of Tamriel. Since at least the time of the Red Eagle, (c.1E 1030) their wizards worshiped the Hagraven "matrons" who in turn granted them knowledge of natural magic.
Special Ability: Able to briefly sense the movement of living and dead creatures. Can convey a helpful spirit; it won't attack, but will distract enemies. Slightly resistant to cold, magic, and disease - but not as much as any of its constituent races. Proficient in archery.
Shadow scale (based on Argonians)
Shadowscales are an order of Argonian assassins originating from Black Marsh. Lizardmen born under …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
