Loot and Downgrade SE - Unique downgrade tweaks
Unofficial - A very simple patch for a script in isoku's excellent Loot and Degradation SE that adjusts the degradation rates of material types to make them more "unique" and non-linear. It's designed to make all materials more relevant throughout the game and work better with Balanced Mode (eg: Elf stuff is fragile, but does + damage.

Uninstall loot and downgrade

Reinstall the mod and tweak and load the saved game.
After testing, it should be completely fine, but use it at your own risk!
First photo I uploaded from my personal stash, I will share it with others if they might want to share it. You need to loot and downgrade SE 1.32 for this! ! Won't conflict with anything since it only edits the value in a single script of the mod. I'd like equipment and progression to be less linear and create potential "niche" uses for weapons and armor of all materials, with degradation to help balance.
This tweak is not intended to be hyper-realistic. It's only really relevant and potentially useful when combined with balance mods for weapons and armor.
For this, I highly recommend using True Armor SE (amazingly deep armor mechanics) and Weapon Damage UI. Without True Armor and some sort of weapon balancing mod, there's basically no point downloading this. With these two mods, you can quickly adjust and balance everything in the game to your liking.
At least the most durable, now looks like: cloth, fur, elf/bondmold, iron, glass, orc/chitin, steel, falmer, dadric/ebony/stalhrim, dragon, dwarf
Requirements: Loot and Downgrade SE 1.32 and all its dependencies. That’s all.
Installation: Do a regular install using your Mod Manager, placing it anywhere under "Loot and Downgrades", regardless of location.
Strongly recommended:
Real Armor SE
Weapon damage interface
Your favorite battle modes like Ultimate Combat, Wildcat, Critical Hit, CGO and more.
Balance tips:
By order of magnitude -
Buff elf, glass, orc, ebony, dragon weapons and armor
Minor nerfs towards daedric, dwarven and steel weapons and armor
If True Armor is highly recommended, use the Fantasy preset (still very realistic) and adjust from there. Create some viable niches for lower level armor - for example I made dwarf armor very resistant to impact, but very weak to daggers and other elemental damage etc. I made steel pretty solid for sword slashing/sharp damage, basically almost as good as the higher level stuff.. but otherwise pretty mediocre, with significant movement and weapon speed penalties (especially the steel plate).
This is an unofficial tweak that requires the master mod and is not endorsed by the author or porter!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
