Limited Perk Trees limit how many major and minor additional trees you can put in while allowing you to continue leveling locked trees.
introduce
One of the big issues in Skyrim is your ability to be the best at everything. Even if you try to adopt a strict style, you will usually specify at least a few trees for certain key perks. This mod won't make these perks any less useful, but it will force you to really choose which ones are worth it, and if you want more, you'll have to work hard.
describe
Limited Perk trees allow you to choose 2 primary skill trees and 3 secondary skill trees to gain perks and lock in the rest. You still get levels for locked skills, just without the perks.
When you create a legendary skill, you get another tree, depending on what you reset, up to 2 majors and minors (so up to 4 majors and 5 minors). Making a legendary locked skill doesn't give you a new tree, it has to be the one you put the perk into.
The main tree is:
destruction
illusion
recover
call
Transformation
a hand
two-handed
Archery
Secondary trees are:
light armor
heavy armor
piece
unlock
pickpocket
sneak
eloquence
alchemy
enchanting
forging
Also available for Classic!
(United Nations) Installation Information
I wouldn't install this mid-save, especially if you've already unlocked some tree perks.
I also wouldn't uninstall this mid-save, you might lose the first perk of every tree you unlock.
compatibility
There are currently Vanilla and Ordinator versions. I will make patches for other mods upon request but I prefer you to try your own first and I will add your version here, especially for custom perk mod combinations. I've detailed how to make your own version in the mod.
FAQ
Can I use your mod for x?
Go ahead and just trust whatever you use.
Why can't I get a new tree for a dual legendary/legendary on a tree I didn't unlock?
Coding restrictions. I could probably get it to work but it took me long enough to do that. If I make a big change, I'll consider it.
This doesn't work, you broke my game!
Maybe, but please research it before commenting. I've made it very clear how to install this and the conditions for doing so, so if you comment that you installed the vanilla version on a normal person and you've been playing with it for a month I'll ignore you :)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
