About this mod Machine translation

Ring to light your way through the game or light up your character for on-screen archery.

Made some (trickster) rings to light my way through dark dungeons, but that was just a by-product:

Three rings with different light intensities and large radii. Bright is used in dark but safe places, low-level is used for sneaking in dangerous places.

Like DredLord 2's Radiant Armor, they have little effect on the stealth meter, but the light source is only above the player, not below.

The lighting ring adds 27 rings. Three very different brightness levels and 9 different fixed positions of light with a small radius - from head to toe. They're of no value to gameplay since you only see yourself and (hostile) NPCs see you, but may be useful for screen archarchers who don't spend a lot of time setting up stages or just take snapshots on the fly.

How to get it in the game? Just visit the next forge to craft them without any materials. OK, I put some in the list, but set the quantity to 0 - it looks heavier.

One disadvantage: You can potentially wear them all at the same time, but only use one of them at any given time, since they only have one skeleton-pelvis node to connect the light source to.

History of this mod: A few weeks ago I was looking around at some DX-bc7 textures and wanted to find a way to test them in different lighting conditions without moving my character to different locations in the game - so why not make some glow rings?

First to try: Candle Grid variant without FX FX. Not bad, but a bit shaky - okay for bright halos.

Second test: Delete the motion data and place the light above your head. Solid light, but limited illumination on the sides - OK for a low-level light.

Third to billionth test: Setting up different positions, only to find that I couldn't imitate outside sunlight with these rings. However, as the radius decreases, they work well for screenshots without any prior staging.

Have fun shooting dungeons!

Made some (cheat-) rings to light your way throug dark dungeons, but those a just a byproduct:

Three rings with different light level and big radius. The bright one to use in dark but safe locations, the low level ones for sneaking around in dangerous places.

Like DredLord2's Radiant Armor they don't have a big affect your stealthmeter, but the lightsource is just above the player, not below.

The rings of lighting add 27 rings. Three different levels of brightness and nine different fixed positions of light with very small radius - just from head to not even toe. Theyr are of no value for gameplay, as you just see yourself and (hostile) npcs see you as well, but may be usefull for screenarchers who don't spent much time for setting up stages or just take some snapshots "on the run".

How to get ingame? Simply visit the next forge and craft them with no materials needed. Okay, I put some in the list, but set the amounts to 0 - looks more IMMERSIVE.

One drawback: You may wear all at the same time, bu only one of them will work at any given time, as they have only one skeleton-pelvis-node to attach the lightsource.

History behind this mod: some weeks ago I GIMPed around with some DX-bc7-textures and wanted to find a way to test them under different lighting conditions without moving my char to different locations ingame - so why not making some lighting rings?

First try: Candlelight-mesh variant without the iffy FX. Nice but a bit wobbly - was okay for the bright-light-ring.

Second test: Removed the movement data and put light just above head. Steady light, but lighting of the sides limited - was okay for the low level lightrings.

Third to bazillionth tests: Set up different positions, only to find out that I can't emulate exterior sunlight with these rings. But with reduced radius they work nicely for screenshots without much staging upfront.

Happy screenshooting an dungeoncrawling!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
