OG Skyrim version
Like I said in the short description, this is a remake and improvement of two of my old mods, with three four main features:
- As both players and NPCs gain higher magic skill levels, their spell power increases (in vanilla, spell costs decrease). Unlike the original version, this version now includes illusion magic because I decided not to do the little things anymore.
- Potions are much less likely to generate level lists, requiring you to actually use your alchemy skills.
- The standing stone you choose will have a negative impact on one of your character's attributes, making your character omnipotent and making you more addicted to role-playing or other roles. The effects are as follows: the Warrior Stone, Thief Stone, Horse Stone, Lord Stone, and Lady Stone reduce base Magicka to 10%, the Mage Stone, Atronach Stone, Apprentice Stone, and Ritual Stone reduce base stamina to 10%, and the Lover, Tower, Snake, and Shadow Stones reduce base health to 75%.
- To counteract the sprinting abilities of magic-focused stone users, they gain a spell called "Mage's Vitality" that increases their movement speed when cast.
This is what I did too and you can download it here .
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can I use just one of these features? I don't like other people.
A: You can use older versions of the mod, which can be found here and here. The only thing gained independently is the Standing Stone effect. They have versions available in OG Skyrim and Skyrim Special Edition.
Q: Why would you reduce someone's attributes based on their stance?
A: Standing stones are the closest thing we have in Skyrim, as they are extremely important to one's playstyle. I personally always found it weird that my combat-focused character could cast spells as easily as swinging a sword, so I included this feature.
Q: Okay, but you got the standing stone wrong. [x] is more suitable for [x] play style.
Answer: Okay, the truth is I've only ever used warrior stones. And I've only played male Nordics. I've completed many Skyrim walkthroughs and never expanded.
Q: ...do you know how role-playing games work?
A: I love voice protagonists.
Q: Yeah, you don't know how RPG works.
A: I just can't focus on magic. Just like using energy weapons in Fallout.
Q: Do you want to remake an old mod? Why don't you just make new stuff?
A: I started a new endeavor and found that all my old stuff could be improved upon since I was better at modding. This also marks the end of my old character Kieran Cousland, who you often see in screenshots if you follow my mod (male nordic, black hair, pony tail, stubble), as well as the end of my run with Amorous Adventures. Good riddance, that mod probably shows a lot of effort from the author, but gosh is it corny.
Q: Nonsense, is this going to be an obituary for your old Skyrim character?
A: Let me set the mood for this. Kieran Cousland is a 56-year-old Nord who spent the beginning of his life in the Dragon Age universe with his parents, Willem and Morrigan, who enchanted him the day before they fought a dragon, and after the dragon was slain, his soul was absorbed into Morrigan's womb. This made me say "OMG, their son is basically a dragon bone!" and decided to base the entire Skyrim walkthrough on that. Then, through Elder Scrolls, elven power and immature jokes, he married in Tamriel. In between, he defeated Alduin and fulfilled the prophecy of The Last Dragon, then defeated Harkon straight up because most questlines in Skyrim are despicable, and then became the guinea pig for testing the Outcast Valley, which was even more broken before launch than it is now. Since Amorous Adventures has been installed, uh, his life is incredible and he's basically living in GamerPoop's version of Skyrim, once telling his wife Lydia: "So, housecarl, Do we have to sleep? Together? "I find sleeping with you not only obje …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
