Leafeater’s Whiterun Tree Overhaul
When it comes to Whiterun City, I can never find a perfect overhaul that adds just the right amount of trees. It's either too much, too little, not enough space, interferes with NPC movement, doesn't have the variety I want, or is incompatible with Breezehome TNF. After all these years, I finally created my own version.
The difference between this mod and several others is that it is fully compatible with Breezehome TNF and it should not interfere with any NPC pathways or behavior like vanilla or mods like Immersive Citizens. Not to mention it adds Pine and Aspen trees for a little more color and variety. It should be compatible with SFO and confirmed to be compatible with realistic aspen trees and enhanced vanilla trees/regular vanilla trees. If this mod is somewhat successful, I will look into making a compatible version (such as one compatible with Open Cities, etc.).
The mod has been cleaned using SSEEdit so there won't be any issues. I haven't tested it with JK's Skyrim or 3D trees, but if you test it and find the problem I'll be more than happy to help.
SSELODGEN and DyndoLOD users!
Disable this mod before generating any new lod files, otherwise you will get lods in City Cell.
Intstallation:
Install like any normal mod. All it contains is an esp. Just use your Mod Manager or just manually drag the esp into the data folder of the Skyrim directory and enable it using your Mod Manager.
How to uninstall:
Just delete it from the mod manager or manually go to the data folder and delete it. Removing mid-game should be fine since it simply adds trees. But as with all mods, uninstalling mid-game is not recommended.
Mods I used in the screenshots:
Whiterun HD
Enhanced Vanilla Tree (Lush Custom)
Natural atmosphere Tamriel
Rudy ENB
majestic mountains (dark)
Landscape Overhaul HD
realistic water
Enhance lighting and FX
Luxor sun texture 4k
(No these are not mine. I just use them and they are not included in the esp.)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
