About this mod Machine translation
This MOD adds additional clothing layers for armor and clothing to the character's inventory.
[A P P A R E L L A Y E R]
This mod is a remake of the Apparel Layer mod made for Skyrim LE.
Clothing layers allow you to pretend that your character is wearing something underneath his armor. When you look at your character, you can't see underwear, and even browsing your character's inventory won't find any pieces of armor or clothing currently being worn under it. However, your character will be protected (base armor level) and enchanted by enchantments, and of course extra weight. Also, your current underwear will be visible and properly equipped in your character's inventory only when you take off your character's armor.
What does this mod do?
This mod adds additional clothing layers for armor and clothing to the character's inventory.
A clothing layer is an armor item, but can also be used as a container for armor parts that fit under your armor or clothing. It is classified as light armor and jewelry. It has no weight, armor class or enchantments of its own. Instead, the layer will take over and reflect the total weight and overall protection (base armor level) of the item in that layer (container), taking on all the magical effects of such item enchantments. You can see active magic effects applied to clothing layers in the magic effects menu.
Why use this mod?
"Using wigs and nails, on my character, I couldn't play Skyrim without that."

"Right now, I keep a slub coat in the character's inventory and pretend they're wearing armor. With this modification, they can wear (but not see) the top in the clothing layer, and then automatically re-wear the tunic when they don't equip the armor, rather than standing around in the breeze."

"Because it allows you to double your armor slots"

"All magical robes or clothing with enchantments can be worn, and when equipped with normal armor, the enchantments, buffs, etc. will be combined with everything else worn."
describe
Clothing Layers will open a container menu for selecting armor and clothing as layer items. The selected armor items will be equipped immediately, and when another armor or clothing item is equipped in the same biped slot, these armor items will no longer be equipped and stored in the clothing layer container. When such an armor or clothing item is removed (slot is empty), the slot's stored item is removed from the clothing layer container and automatically re-equipped. To deselect an armor item, simply remove the item of clothing (or remove it from the clothing layer container).
The clothing layer will be controlled from the open inventory menu using the following control keys:
Collection and activate (equip/unequip) the layer to open the clothing layer container, where you can select armor items to wear under armor or clothing.
Activate (equip/unequip) this layer to print a list of all selected armor items on the screen.
Remove layers to force checking and reloading of layers, i.e. checking all entries in arrays, checking container items, calculating weight and armor level, redoing layer enchantments, etc.
Favorite this layer to temporarily disable it, for example to avoid wearing underwear when the character should be completely undressed.
The clothing layer only reacts to events triggered by the player (no polling is done in the background). Most of the work for this layer will be done when the inventory menu is opened or immediately after it is closed. Therefore, there is no performance penalty.
To work its magic, the clothing layer will automatically equip, unequip, remove and add itself to the player character inventory. The clothing layer uses biped slot 50 as standard. If slot 50 is not available, the layer will try to change its slot mask to the first available slot among the supported slots 60, 59, 58, 57, and 40. If there is no supported slot, the layer will force arming on slot 50 (and unarm any devices on that s …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
