A massive NPC facelift project aims to change the appearance of most NPCs across the land of Skyrim. Such as followers, marriage candidates, necessities, beast races, elves, orcs, miners, civil war leaders, Giles, farmers, guild members, wizards, etc. NPCs change based on numerous factors such as backstory, status, voice, and form. My goal is to be vanilla friendly while completely changing the NPCs to look more natural without having to apply anime or makeup like features (aesthetics, anime hairstyles, etc.). I think this aesthetic ruins the overall feel of the game as the purpose of this mod is to make the NPCs look like they were part of the game in the first place. This is my artistic interpretation of the character.

feature

Changed NPC facial shapes and clothes of approximately 500 NPCs

It removes some of the awkwardness and exaggerated skin tones and facial structure of the vanilla version. Reshape NPC skin tone, makeup, wrinkles, scars and dirt to look more natural

Certain NPCs have been changed and fixed to better fit the mythology or backstory. For ex. Ysgramor looks more like a statue. Olaf One-Eye differs from his Draugr accessories (different armor and hairstyle). All Stormcloak Jarls are dressed in appropriate Jarl clothing, eg.

Sovngarde adds Lore, Norse heroes and characters from current and previous Elder Scrolls games.

What exactly will change with this mod?

You have to believe me, there are almost 500 or more products that have been redesigned in Skyrim, and not to list every NPC that has been changed. Such as followers, marriage candidates, necessities, civil war leaders, Giles, farmers, guild members, wizards, etc.

I'm a fan of Elder Scrolls lore and this mod makes certain characters better suited to Skyrim's lore and setting.

Some faces may not be to your liking. But please keep in mind that this is my own interpretation of the character. And, with over 500 NPCs changed, you wouldn't expect to appease everyone's specific taste; I wanted to keep it diverse... you know what? In short, I see it and try to fix it as best I can. I don't have time these days so I don't ask for it. But this is a project I wanted to share with you, so it's for your personal use only and you're free to do what you like. If you really want to help me with some issues to make this mod work better. Please leave a comment and share it with the community :D

Manual installation

  • First, follow the instructions on the download page to install the required files.
  • Extract the files to a temporary location.
  • Copy/paste all files into the Skyrim data folder. Normal: Steam/SteamApps/common/SkyrimSpecialEdition/Data
  • Launch Skyrim and click "Data Files" before clicking "Play" and make sure the addon is selected and move it to the bottom of the list.
  • Play games.

*Important note, it is recommended to "wait" or play for a few hours for NPCs to change clothes, otherwise you may encounter rare random NPCs walking naked. If they still don't dress as expected, click "~" to enter the console, then click on the NPC and type disable. Then enable it again.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
