News: Version 0.93 available

Animation:

Iron and dwarf telescopes are now animated. Opening/closing depends on whether they are "ready" or "sheathed". There are also stock animations.

Weather effects:

All ranges are now affected by rain and snow. Rain blurs your vision, and snow blurs it even more. Pictures under the images tab

Entry-level telescope:

The leather-cased telescope has had its size reduced, and its crafting requirements changed to refined malachite. This one doesn't have diamonds of any kind.

This range now comes with a simple model and textures provided by modder FrankFamily. Applies to KWT0.93FrankFamilyPatch.

See "0.93" under the Forum tab for details.

iron telescope

Modder FrankFamily now has a super high version of Rez. Provided by KWT093FrankFamilyIronTelescopeReplacer in the optional files section.

What is this MOD?

Added non-combat/non-bow 'FOV' option for players, in the guise of Lore Friendly Craftable Telescopes, with working zoom capabilities. Download, craft, equip and use like it's a shield (block active) See posts under the Sticky tab for more.

Models, textures and scripts

The leather sleeved telescope was done by modder FrankFamily, who totally got the vibe I wanted for this scope, but just didn't have the flair. Please help me say thank you for checking out his other works, especially his latest.

Crazy three telescopes and textures tomorrow!

These meshes and textures are all part of TESA's Skyrim Resource Kit,

Or (The SpyGlass) Crazy Junkyard Ends on TESA

Full credit to them for their great work and especially for being insanely generous in letting me use them :)

Remember, if you use them, you must credit them again.

Modder Volvaga0's transcripts are scattered throughout the script. In any case, the top people will not be this far away.

You can find him in Dwemer Goggles and Scouter, one of the best mods out there.

The animation would not be possible without the work of Modder Nez and Dwarven Mechanical Equipment

If you want to know how to animate objects/weapons, this is the place to go. Incredible modding at work here.

Like real beer and tobacco, some things are better together. 'Guess the Distance - Perceptual Reconnaissance' by Modder Ecceau

If you use this mod you will have to take a look. This guy can seriously write a script.

Install

important! This mod requires the latest version of SKSE64. If you don't know about SKSE64, check out Gopher's video

compatibility

Fully compatible with SKYUI, IHUD and all the other cool stuff you might think would be a blast if you downloaded this mod. I use them too so no worries.

Things this MOD won't do!

1: Give you the perfect telescope.

The script may take a second to fire and/or close. (Depending on how many scripts are running, how "busy" the cells are loading, how many modifiers are running, etc.) It's really the quality of your system that will determine how fast and smooth the scaling effect is.

What you see through your telescope depends on your display settings. uGrids, LOD is that kind of thing. This mod doesn't touch them, only FOV.

Don't expect Perfection, this is my first mod! (I've added some translations about the technical limitations of this mod under the forum tag. Don't read them, it's boring there)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
