About this mod Machine translation

What happens if you die? Do you reload? Rebirth? Or stay in the fight? Stay in the Fight is a configurable alternative death mode that frees your soul from Sovngarde at the expense of your equipment, money, souls, and/or skills.

Tired of wallowing in the immersive destruction of having to reload to your last save when you die, or using a death mode that has you trekking across Tamriel only to be killed in the same spot again?

Stay in the Fight is a simple, configurable and lightweight replacement death module that allows you to keep fighting when you should. catch? You'll survive by being well-equipped with gear, weapons, gold, dragon souls, and skills, no matter the cost, before finally taking your life. Perfect for a hard pass.

Mod

-The gods created dragons for a purpose, so protecting them is important to their possessions, but only when it benefits them.

-When you die, you are thrown to the ground and the god makes you briefly ethereal. Saving your life will require sacrifice, and you will lose important possessions in exchange for saving your soul.

-So instead of repeating the same parts over and over when you're constantly being killed by one shot, put on some replacement armor and stay in the fight.

  • Each option can be toggled on or off, but by default, dying will cause you to start with well-equipped armor and sacrifice 3 "sacrifice"s. Without armor, your weapons will be sacrificed, then a percentage of gold each time until only 100 gold (carriage money) is left. After that, your dragon soul will be taken away, and if your skill is higher than level 15, your skill will be targeted. When you have nothing left, you can choose death or exile as the outcome.

-Please note that well-equipped quest items are often unsafe (read on), so don't wear items you don't want to lose. Unequipped inventory items are not touched unless you choose to exile them, and then they disappear. You can set a slot to be protected so that it cannot be removed (i.e. if your lantern is in slot 55 and you want to keep it, you can set slot 55 to be secure).

  • If you are not prepared, you may find yourself naked, without weapons, broken, trying to fist-punch a dragon, and end up being sent to Sovngarde, which will change the way you look at combat preparation.

-Can change the number of sacrifices, ethereal length, gold coin loss, etc. in MCM

-Buttons that will shock the player if they fall on a bush or something weird happens

-After being banished, the gods took everything from you (your inventory and gold) and you were sent to the throat of the world to think/start over

Compatibility

-This mod will force a quick recovery from any low health bleed, so any bleed events may be shortened. For example: using player.kill when necessary will only cause normal bleeds, but brawling will lower your health and trigger this mod.

-Failed (I know a lot of people using this LL mod):

-I spent some time making sure SITF behaves well (enough) in Defeat. If you use wounds, exhaustion or stun mechanics in Player as Victim, set the knockdown chance to 100% so that when the player falls, the knockdown event will override the bleed. Testing shows this works fine. No knockout means no exudation events.

-Despite the lack of culling, which is essential for the culling effect, sometimes the character's animation rotates it 90 degrees. Once the animation is complete, simply use the "Help I'm Stuck" option in SITF's MCM to shake and reset the player.

Install:

  • Install normally and activate in MCM to get started

-Close the module in MCM before uninstalling

Notice

-I'd love to know what you think and if you run into any problems

-After trying as many death modes as possible and not really finding what I was looking for, I finally decided to jump into the world of modding. This may start to spiral as I find Papyrus to be very straightforward and enjoy doing that.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
