Katnerd followers and NPCs

Sometimes, the appearance and/or abilities of NPCs make me uneasy. Whether it's Fander looking like Camilla's grandpa or Sven being completely useless as a companion choice. I made this to fix this myself so I didn't have to change them every time I started a new game. I thought I'd share.

About this mod Machine translation

Sometimes, the appearance and/or abilities of NPCs make me uneasy. Whether it's Fander looking like Camilla's grandpa or Sven being completely useless as a companion choice. I made this to fix this myself so I didn't have to change them every time I started a new game. I thought I'd share.

This is a small collection of some changes to certain NPCs that annoy me in a way. There are currently only five classes of NPCs, all of them male, as female NPCs and their followers seem to be handled well. But that doesn't mean I won't include female NPCs (honestly, Brelyna Marian is on my radar). Fair warning, I don't really intend this as a "glorified" mod, and some of the NPCs that were added may be intentionally unappealing (Jarl Sid digitizers, I'm looking at you). Just thought it was worth mentioning.

All the screenshots I upload are on a graphical vanilla game. That's what they look like in the worst visual conditions.

I left the option to upload images without my approval of anything. I'd really like to see what they look like in other people's games. !

Thank you to everyone who downloaded my lil’mod :)

It's useless for him to be polite. I mean, even if you wanted to play someone who wouldn't pick Feindahl, you'd be better off doing it alone than picking Sven.

I changed his class and fighting style. He should be running out to fill your tank now. I also made him bigger and put on his clothes to make him look like

The bully in the village gave him a big axe. What kind of northerner doesn’t have an axe? He also has a lute and a drum in his inventory. He looks much younger. I think it's appropriate.

Feyndar elves are generally ugly in the sky. Sorry, if you like that elf that looks just like the vampire from Buffy the Vampire Slayer , Feyndale doesn't like that anymore. He looks much younger. I mean, before he looked like Camilla's grandfather. Am I the only one who finds this a bit scary? Fejndal also has some pretty ugly "custom" costumes. I turned a peasant's robe green and put some leather boots and wrist guards on him. They were enchanted, and both he and Sven had the added bonus of benefiting from the enchantments. Faendal also has a very cool looking elven bow from Mold Bow, by DecimusMaximus. If you don't use a real bow, this bow will stand out, but not in a knowledge-unfriendly way.

Amon: I thought he was a little scrawny for a professional mercenary, so I gave him a lesson. You can also ask him to follow you after you get his father's sword back, and if you knew about his family situation, you wouldn't ask why he was in such a hurry to escape. Amren now wears heavy armor as the details in his character record tend to. His family sword is now a custom hammered armor sword, just like the shield he has in his inventory. You may have to take his old iron sword out of him before he can equip his family sword. I'm going with the power sword from the original version, but both the shield and sword should have options to upgrade them at the appropriate crafting stations. He was now a grumpy henchman.

NPC:

Balgrove: I've always thought Whiterun's Jarl was a bit scrawny for such a seasoned veteran who managed to impress Dunmer Nightblade during World War II to the point where she would become so fanatically attached to him now that it's a bit buffered. I also made him slightly taller than average, and honestly, you might not even notice. Anyway, it seems to me that he is a bit "majestic" in appearance - no. I just hope I can find a decent crown to replace the circus one he wears. Ah, well, I guess I need to learn how to use a blender someday.

Falenger: I just don't like lamb chops. He's a wizard, he should have a beard and a pointed hat. Now he knows. Fundamental change, I know.

All NPCs have custom bodies (SFW, and compatible with vanilla clothing meshes), heads, hands, feet, hair and custom textures for all. You don't need to install anything to make them look like the pictures. I didn't change the game logs, …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
