Important installation notes! You must completely uninstall any previous versions of Kaidan and create a clean save before installing and playing this mod!

Kaidan Follower has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and features a huge new set of features to explore. He is written to be your dragon-born immersive companion or lover, responsive to quests and choices. Facilitating your relationship with him doesn't depend on any tasks, instead you're encouraged to interact with him and see your relationship develop over time.

start:

Right off the bat, you'll receive a request prompting you to find Kaidan in an abandoned prison, where he can free your followers once he's freed. (There is a Vanilla Worm in the Abandoned Prison, which can lose track of followers when exiting, or drop them across the river.) This bug should be fixed with the unofficial Skyrim patch, otherwise fast traveling, or waiting a while on the road will fix it)

Kaidan's equipment can be found in prisoner's reliquary boxes in abandoned prisons and can be upgraded.

Kaidan also has his own AI system that does not increase the number of followers you have, but this may cause conflicts with follower mods. It's highly recommended that before you create a save game, try using features on him, such as magical follower tweaks, in case you break his brain.

Tracking him is now easier than ever, too; a separate dialogue prompt will allow you to track him around the map, and you'll get a power that summons him to you in a relatively RP-friendly way.

romantic:

Moving your relationship forward no longer relies on triggering conversations in different places, but instead, more conversations and more stories about Kaidan will be opened up over time.

To trigger Kaidan's romantic dialogue, wear Mara's Amulet and talk to him. Once this initial conversation is over, you no longer need to continue wearing the amulet; the romantic conversation will continue. However, be careful about your choices when interacting with him - it could change the course of your relationship!

If you do something that doesn't want to trigger Kaidan's romantic maxim, it's as simple as not talking to him while wearing the Amulet of Mara. He will be an immersive companion for you in addition to flirting and marriage proposals.

Appearance:

Kaidan has custom hair, eyebrows and eyes, although his body remains unchanged. This is to make him compatible and aesthetically pleasing to the body mod chosen by the player, rather than adding any unexpected nudity to the game.
