I would like a more modular addon so I could combine it with Dolomite Precipitation and Obsidian Mountain Fog, close to vanilla but with improved weather systems. The reason for this mode is to eliminate excessive darkness at night.
This mod has always been one of my favorite weather mods, but I find myself uninstalling it often because it's completely dark when it snows at night. It was so dark that even with a magical torch floating next to me and a torch in my hand, the ground directly beneath the character remained completely black. The nights are now vanilla bright. This would be a problem since they are so bright, but there are countless mods, including most lighting and weather mods, that will change nighttime brightness anyway. Clouds are always the selling point of this mods, so I removed the night edit and tweaked some of the weather changes, leaving just the clouds and settings they rely on.
I sent a message to the creator and received no response, but I see nothing explicitly denying permission to modify his esp, nor any credit as any creator of the assets involved. This is just an esp and won't work alone. If you want to endorse, please endorse the original. This is because it turns out there is a problem with VR.
Make sure to add the following adjustments:
VERY IMPORTANT: Edit your SkyrimPrefs.ini
Search: fSkyCellRefFadeDistance = 150000.0000
and increase the value to: fSkyCellRefFadeDistance = 500000.0000
You can also set the in-game time scale to 10 when outside. If you don't know how to set it up yourself, there are timescale mods available.
I also used an in-game spell to turn off zoom, which prevents clouds from popping up and zooming into your view. Instead, they will be generated until the sky is reasonably covered with weather types and the pops will be less noticeable.

I messaged the creator but received no reply however I do not see any explicit denial of permission to modify his esp and take no credit as any creator of the assets involved. This is just an esp and will not work on its own. If you want to endorse, endorse the original. As the original had issues with VR so will this. …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
