"Ilya's House" by Juniper
"I want to leave everything in this cursed place behind. Goodbye. Thank you." - Ilya
After the mission was completed, Illia was offered a house. She said she couldn't stay in the tower anymore and wanted to leave it all behind, but after she sought the mission, she stood outside the tower at the ceremony forever. Until now.
This mod provides Ilya with a small farmhouse between the Darklight Tower and the Snow Farm. Illia will live and work around her new cabin and head to the Rifte for shopping on the weekends after completing her mission.
Sure, she's a dark mage, but putting all that aside could mean a lot of things. After her pursuit, I chose to give her a cabin for therapy.
Illia is one of my favorite NPC followers in Skyrim. She's powerful, her story is heartbreaking, and I usually invite her to be a housekeeper in my Hearth Tale home so she has a place to stay. Plus, she can pull out a giant herself. After she served faithfully as my caretaker for many years, I repaid her with her own cabin.
I tested this mod until Illia started working properly and using her AI package as expected! She can be a squire who will return to her cabin when dismissed, or if you prefer, she will be your housekeeper and move to your hearth.
Even if you have completed the quest before, Illia should still be moved to her cabin, unless she is the housekeeper of one of your Hearth Houses.
Changes in Illia
=============
Illia's post-mission AI package has been adjusted so that she will move into the cabin after the mission is completed. This tweak also fixes an issue where her AI package would not activate correctly due to incorrect checks for tasks. Illia now has her own unique spell list and no longer uses behavior templates, which seems to cause her to no longer use her packs after completing a mission. This mod also adds some new AI packages for Illia so that she will have lives after leaving the tower.
I've brought Illia's NPC data from USSEP into this mod, including her CrimeFaction, her attack race, and a few spells that weren't added by my new template based on her spell list. These changes are all fixes for Illia so she can use the AI package correctly. I highly recommend using USSEP for all drills.
possible conflict
===============
I checked this mod against a very extensive mod list and no serious conflicts occurred. Mods that will cause this problem are grass or landscape overhauls. Any turf or landscape mod that adds turf to the rift and dirt landscape textures will destroy all the landscaping I've done around Illia's house. Her house will be covered with grass.
If they run into Illia, this should be compatible with the NPC overhaul, which includes facegen being vanilla. This mod is tagged Wrye Bash Patch with her new AI and inventory. The bash patch should fix any minor issues. If you're on Illia with a dull face, lower it in the load order.

Juniper's "A House for Illia"
"I want to leave everything from this cursed place behind. Goodbye. And thank you." -Illia
A house for Illia after her quest is finished. She says she can't stay in the tower anymore and wants to leave it all behind, but then she stands outside of the tower at the ritual site forever after her quest. Until now.
This mod adds small cottage farm for Illia between Darklight Tower and Snow-Shod Farm. Illia will live and work around her new cottage and travel to Riften on the weekend to shop after her quest is completed.
Sure she's a dark mage, but leaving it all behind can mean many things. I chose to give her a cottage to heal after her quest.
Illia is one of my favorite NPC followers in Skyrim. She's powerful, her story is heartbreaking, and I usually recruit her to be a steward at one of my Hearthfire homes so she has a place to live. Plus …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
