Jungle knife, steel dagger used by hunters and forest dwellers. Alternate choices for Independence or Walder's Lucky Dagger.

Special thanks to Billyro (textures, shaders, initial mod integration)

background

The Bush Knife is a steel dagger designed for survival in the harsh Skyrim forests. I'm not particularly happy with Skyrim's dagger designs, but the worst one is Valdr's Lucky Dagger, it looks like it should be a bushcraft type knife based on special talents among hunters, but it's just a simple steel dagger. So, I started working in Blender and created my own dagger, which is more suitable as a survival tool for Sky Forest.

Unfortunately, I can't complete this project alone. I suffer from an inflammatory disease that has been on the mend lately, but my favorite weapon smith, Billy Rowe, was willing to help me get through it and I'm so grateful.

This model comes in two variants:

Option 1: Independent Bushing Knife

Added craftable daggers to the "Steel" category. It can be exercised and enchanted. Base stats are slightly higher than a standard steel dagger (9, I think? 8 or 9).

NOTE: The screenshot does not show basal damage. I wore them with several one-handed skill buffs. terribly sorry.

This version does not replace anything.

Option 2: Enhanced Bush Knife Standalone and Walder's Lucky Dagger Replacement

Added craftable daggers to the "Steel" category. It can be exercised and enchanted. Base stats are a bit better than the standard brush knife (option 1). The Bush Knife also replaces Walder's Lucky Dagger, which is slightly better than the Enhanced Bush Knife, with the addition of a critical chance modifier and additional enchantments that can be added.

You only need to download one option.

I'm not a screenshot sniper, so please feel free to submit your own screenshots if you like the mod. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thank you again, Billie Rowe.

Background

The Bush Knife is a steel dagger designed for surviving the harsh forests of Skyrim. I wasn't particularly happy with any of Skyrim's dagger designs, but worst of all was Valdr's Lucky Dagger, which seems like it should be a bushcraft type knife, based on being a special gift between hunters, but instead it was just a simple steel dagger. So, I got to work in Blender and created my own dagger which is much better suited to the forests of Skyrim as a survival tool.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish this project on my own. I suffer from an inflammatory disease and it's just gotten the better of me lately, but my favorite weapon smith, Billyro, was willing to help me finish it and I am so grateful.

This mod comes in two flavors:

OPTION 1: Bush Knife Standalone

Adds a craftable dagger in the Steel category. It can be tempered and enchanted. Base stats are slightly over the standard Steel Dagger (9, I think? 8 or 9).

NOTE: Screenshots do not depict base damage. I took them while wearing several One-Hand skill buffs. Sorry about that.

THIS VERSION DOES NOT REPLACE ANYTHING.

OPTION 2: Enhanced Bush Knife Standalone AND Valdr's Lucky Dagger Replacer

Adds a craftable dagger in the Steel category. It can be tempered and enchanted. Base stats are a little better than the standard Bush Knife (option 1). The Bush Knife also REPLACES Valdr's Lucky Dagger, which is slightly better than the enhanced Bush Knife, adds a Critical Chance modifier and additional enchantments can be added.

You only need to download one option.

I'm no screenshot sniper, so please feel free to submit your own screenshots if you enjoy the mod. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks again, Billyro.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
