About this mod Machine translation

Replaces the default outfit with clothes and places an original suit in her inventory.

generally:

Iona's default equipment (armor) is replaced by clothing (which she would normally wear when dismissed). Her original equipment is placed into her inventory so that it retains vanilla behavior/functionality when following, or can be removed and replaced without restrictions.

A file "Iona.bat" is attached, see the readme file for information on its use. It is used to set her RefID so that console commands target her.

There are two versions, vanilla look and modified look, don't mix the files or you will have blackface problem. However, you can change from one to the other as long as you clear/delete all current files first.

troubleshooting:

If you encounter blackface issues, please search for 00a2c91.nif and 00a2c91.dds files in the mod path. They may be hidden in BSA archives, in the virtual file system path used by MO2, or in the Skyrim SE directory. Mod administrators should help resolve this issue by searching for and displaying conflicts. Resolve conflicts in favor of other mods or this mod by hiding/removing a set of these files, moving plugins, or whatever you like.

This was tested using MO2 and Skyrim SE without any mod manager, I'm not familiar with other methods so can't provide support for those.

She may occasionally revert to her default outfit when following, especially when riding (a horse). This is normal vanilla behavior and not a bug. Just access her inventory and swap an outfit back and forth to force a change, otherwise events like changing cells will eventually trigger her to change.

General:

Iona's default outfit (armor) is replaced with clothing (that she generally will wear when dismissed). Her original outfit is placed into her inventory to retain vanilla like behavior/function when following, or it can be removed and replaced without restriction.

An additional file "Iona.bat" is included, see the README for info on the use of that file. It is used to set her RefID so that console commands target her.

There are two versions, vanilla appearance and modified appearance, do NOT mix the files or you will have black face issues. However, changing from one to the other is fine as long as all the current files are cleaned/deleted first.

Troubleshooting:

If experiencing black face issues, search in mod path for 00a2c91.nif and 00a2c91.dds files. They may be buried inside BSA archives, in a virtual file system path like MO2 uses, or in the Skyrim SE directory itself. A mod manager should help with this by searching for and displaying conflicts. Resolve the conflict in favor of the other mod or this mod by hiding/deleting one set of these files, moving plugins around, or whatever is your preferred method.

Just access her inventory and swap a set of apparel back and forth to force changing back, otherwise events like changing cells will eventually trigger her to change back.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
