Improved food in Jordan

by Jordanecus·v0.02·Updated 2020-04-28

The purpose of this mod is to improve vanilla skyline food, it doesn't do anything crazy or add any scripting. It just has mechanic resources that change over time and/or the strengthening buffs each food provides (roughly based on ESO for sweetness, meaning magic, meat for health, and veggies for stamina), I have two versions, so pick the one that suits you best!

This mod is easy to explain and can be installed and uninstalled directly. All cooked food will give you a 5-15 stat buff, (recoverable if you get the HoT, regenerable if you have a lot of it) Reinforcement mods, some items can still restore a small amount of health/stamina, but its 2 to 10 points and you're going to have to spam it a lot, that's a big deal.

Some key features:

-There are two cooked meat recipes; salted and unsalted. The salt-free fortification duration is half the duration. (so you don't have to add salt, but it will be better if you do)

-Cheese wheel: Eating a whole cheese wheel is more harmful than helpful (both for cheese wheels and thinly sliced cheese wheels). But you can go to the cooking station and turn them into 6 and 4 wedges respectively.

-I didn't touch anything that would affect survival mode food. Since I don't use them, please let me know if I need to make it compatible!

That's it! It's a very simple mod that makes food useful and hopefully not too much manipulation (the HoT mod is definitely more manipulation). I wish I could add a "full" effect, where you can only eat 2-3 foods for a while and then it stops you from eating, saying "you're full".

I like the idea of encouraging people to eat in Skyrim without being too forced or becoming a wild maniac cutting his way through dragons and everything else swallowing enough food to feed a village. So please give me feedback and I will try to make some updates and improvements to it.

This mod is pretty self explanatory and straight forward to install and uninstall. All cooked food gives you a 5-15 stat buff, (and restores if you a good amount over time if you get the HoT one) The fortify mod, some items still restore a small amount of health/ stamina, but as its 2-10pts you would have to spam a lot of food for it to matter.

Some key features:

-There are two recipes for cooked meat; salted and unsalted. Unsalted fortify buff lasts half as long. (so you dont have to have salt, but its better if you do)

-Cheese wheels: Eating an entire wheel of cheese is more detrimental than beneficial (for both cheese wheel and cheese wheel sliced). BUT you can go to a cooking station and turn them into 6 and 4 wedges respectively.

-I didn't touch anything that should affect food for survival mods. As i dont use them, let me know if i need to make it compatible!

And thats it! Its a pretty straight forward mod that makes food useful, and hopefully not too OP (the HoT mod is definitely more OP) I wish i could have added a "full" effect, to where you could only have 2-3 food items eaten in a period of time, and then it would stop you from eating saying "you are too full to eat anymore".

I like the idea of people being encouraged to eat in skyrim, but not being forced too, and not being a wild maniac slicing your way through Dragons and everything else swallowing enough food to feed a village. So please give feed back, i will try to update and improve on it a bit.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
