Impromptu custom .ini file for mod improving camera.

3141/5000 I've prepared my own INI file for ArranzCNL's Mod Enhanced Camera Mod, which is an SE port of the mod Enhanced Camera Mod originally made by Logic Dragon for Oldrim. The default INI for this mod works, but imo it's not the best way to play. I've adjusted the settings to make it as smooth as possible with as few errors as possible, although there are some settings you may want to change, which I'll get into. I highly recommend you follow user dreamhive's guide to make the animation smoother and get the best results. (If you use vanilla animation to play as a male character, you can download and install it.) I've included the INI adjustments, you just need to follow the other instructions.

Now you may need to change your settings:

Any line from; enables the head node when in first person view (possibly making hair visible). What this does is make your head visible in first-person view, although in most cases you won't be able to see it. The nice thing about this setup is that your head will appear as a shadow in first person view. The bad thing about it is that during some animations (for example, if you look at the ground and aim with a bow), your head (or at least part of it) is visible. I've enabled it for regular play, horseback riding, werewolves, and vampire lords, but if it's causing problems for you, disable it. Of course, disabling it means your first person shadow will have no head, and since; while first person in First Person is currently in the wrong state and is always on when shadows are enabled on the player, I recommend leaving it on.

Any line from; enables third-person perspective when in first-person perspective. What this does is replace the default first-person animation with a third-person animation where the weapon is off-screen. Of course, this is usually the preferred setting if you don't like the default first-person animation, but there are some advantages. First, because of the way this mod works, if you're holding a torch, for example, your shoulders won't be visible and your arms will be higher than the rest of your body. If third person arms are enabled, this problem does not occur because now your arms are actually connected to the body. Another thing is that if you draw your weapon, the arm shadow will not be visible in first person view, again due to how this mod works. If third person arms are enabled, this issue does not occur and arm shadows appear when drawing weapons in first person. The disadvantage of enabling this feature is that the animation appearance and main clipping are quite confusing. By default, it is disabled.

Other than that, I recommend not messing with any other settings, but you can tweak them a bit if you want to make very specific changes. The only setting you shouldn't mess with is; enabling head bobbing when in first-person view. These settings are basic, if you disable them the camera will be offset and a lot of clipping will occur.

That's it. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to leave a comment and I'll try to get back to you. Also, if it's not obvious, you still need the original mod and SKSE. To install it, just use the mod manager or overwrite the original EnhancedCamera.ini with mine. —————————————————————————————————————————

This is my own ready to use INI file for the mod Improved Camera by ArranzCNL which is the SE port of the mod Enhanced Camera by Logic Dragon originally made for Oldrim. The default INI for this mod is usable, but imo not the best for gameplay. I've tweaked settings to make it as smooth as possible with the least bugs, though you may want to change a few settings, which I'll get into. I highly recommend you follow this guide by user dreamhive to make animations even smoother and get the best possible experience with this mod. (If you play a male character with vanilla animations you can just download and install this.) I've already included the INI tw …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
