About this mod Machine translation

This patch makes RS Children Overhaul where children are inherently the atheists of their ancestors - Skyrim's race.

Imperious - Races of Skirim is one of the many mods created by EnaiSiaion and I cannot play Skyrim: Special Edition without them active in my mod manager and I wanted to create a patch to make the RS Child Overhaul compatible with that particular mod as I enjoy how the former improves the children and makes them playable.

This is the first time I've created a patch that doesn't involve conflict resolution, so it took a long time to gather some information from Google and a guy who offered me a little help, but every kid should have the same passives as their adults in addition to their stats and starting skills; however, I don't know if Nord's 'The Purge' will have any impact on kids related to the chosen race at level 10/30/50, since they don't know how to create new Magic Effects, nor do 'The Purge' "Need.

Regarding the stats, I didn't make the weight values the same as Imperious's because it doesn't make much sense for a small child to carry around an item with around 300 burden values at the start of a match, so I kept the weight values the same as vanilla while increasing them based on the 2nd and 3rd place value of the adult counterpart's weight value; however, I'm willing to make a second patch to make the kids' weight values consistent with Imperious's, if a lot of people want it, or you can change them yourself in xEdit if you know where to look.

Warning(s)

Being animalized will work with existing saves, but I don't know the quest triggers, or if the character's stats and skills will adjust themselves to what I copied from Imperious - Races of Skyrim to override the kids' vanilla attributes. If anyone could verify these for me I would be very grateful.

Special thanks to the folks from r/skyrimmods for their willingness to answer and respond to one of my questions, which helped me overcome one of the major roadblocks preventing me from tinkering with this patch.

Imperious - Races of Skyrim is one of many mods created by EnaiSiaion that I cannot play Skyrim: Special Edition without them being active within my mod manager, and I wanted to create a patch that makes RS Children Overhaul compatible with that particular mod since I enjoy how the former improves the children in addition to making them playable.

This is my first time creating a patch that doesn't involve resolving conflicts, so it took quite some time to make from what little information I could gather from Google and one person who provided me a little help, but each child race should possess the same passives Imperious provided for their adult counterparts in addition to their stats and starting skills; however, I do not know if the Nord's 'The Purge' will have any effect on the children that correlate with the races chosen at levels 10/30/50 due to not knowing how to create new Magic Effects nor new perks that 'The Purge" requires.

Regarding stats, I did not make the weight values the same as Imperious' weight values since it did not make much sense for small children to carry approximately 300 encumbrance worth of items at the start of the game, so I kept the weight values the same as vanilla's whilst increasing them in accordance of the second and third place values of their adult counterparts' weight values; however, I am willing to make a second patch that keeps the children's weight values' consistent with Imperious' if it is desired by many—or you can change them yourself within xEdit if you know where to look.

WARNING(S)

The passives will apply to existing saves, but I do not know about the quest triggers nor if the character's stats and skills will adjust themselves to accommodate what I copied from Imperious …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
