About this mod Machine translation

Want to take that immersion to the next level? The mod attempts to turn the fan on or off based on your current location in the game, combining home automation with VR for enhanced immersion. You will need special hardware for this mod to work properly.

Ever wandered around Skyrim and felt like something was missing? Pretty sure what you're seeing and hearing is a breeze, but not feeling it, and that totally breaks your immersion, right? No need to panic friends, this mod will help you.

What you need:

2.4GHz WLAN router (almost everyone has one at home)

TP-Link HS100 or HS110 smart plug (works with most outlet types)

Fan with manual/mechanical button. (Must be turned on immediately when power is applied - very important!)

Most old fans will have this feature. Newer (especially more expensive) remotes often come with a remote control that starts in standby (not what we want).

This mod ;)

I know it's a bit of an expensive mod (hardware), but the fan and smart plug are useful outside of Skyrim as well.

set up:

Configure the smart plug using the app available in TP-Link for android/iOS (Kasa) and name it "ImmersiveWindsPlug". (Must be this name!)

Your PC and smart plug must be connected to the same network/router. (LAN or WiFi) Please note that the smart plug requires 2.4GHz WiFi.

Plug the fan into the smart plug and make sure you can control it using the app.

Install the latest version of SKSE for Skyrim VR.

Install this mod.

Launch the game via SKSE and enjoy. :)

configuration:

Once the game is launched with the mod enabled, the immersiveWinds.ini file will be generated in <Documents>/MyGames/Skyrim VR/SKSE.

Use this file to configure the following.

You have 2 options to run this mod:

  • Simple mode:

Activate by setting the following configuration in the immersiveWinds.ini file:

bIntermittentModeEnabled = 0

What it can do:

Turn on the fan outdoors and turn off the fan indoors (house, cave, etc.)

For this mode, you want to set the fan to a lower intensity.

Oscillation is turned on or off depending on the size of the play area and your personal preference.

  • Intermittent mode:

This mode is active when the mod is installed. (because most people use it)

Activate by setting the following configuration in the immersiveWinds.ini file:

bIntermittentModeEnabled = 1

What it can do:

Just like simple mode, it turns off when inside the house.

There are different advantages inside and outside the cave, while also taking into account the current weather and altitude at your location.

Different intensities are obtained by constantly switching the state of the plug at different intervals.

For most users, the default configuration of intermittent mode will be fine, but you can fully customize the behavior.

There are 7 different advantages:

0: Always off.

1-6: Intermittent or continuous off/on.

Every intensity except 0 can be modified. The value is the time interval in seconds. Here is an example for intensity level 1:

fIntermittentL1Off = 2.0

fIntermittentL1RandomAddOff = 0.0

fIntermittentL1On = 1.2

fIntermittentL1RandomAddOn = 0.6

illustrate:

The plug remains closed for 2 seconds, then opens again.

The plug then stays on for 1.2 to 1.8 seconds before turning off again. The value is random every cycle, but always between bounds.

Repeat this cycle until the intensity changes.

Setting one of the values fIntermittentLXOff or fIntermittentLXOn to 0 will set the plug's state to constant for that intensity.

example:

fIntermittentL6Off = 0

fIntermittentL6On = 1.0

This will turn the plug on until the intensity changes. In this case the random value won't matter.

Setting both to 0 has no effect and will result in the default value for that intensity.

Values less than 1, other than 0, such as 0.5, are rounded to 1. This does not work with random values.

Additionally, you can customize how parameters affect intensity:

There are 4 categories:

Location base value (e.g. iInsideBase)

Altitude mo …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
