Are you tired of hordes of Civil War soldiers? Do you want the drilled-out Empire and the mighty Stormcloaks to fight right? You want to make your empire more friendly and fun. If so, this is the mod for you.

Immersive Legionnaires is a simple mod with simple implementation. Its main purpose is to provide important combat buffs to all Imperial and Stormcloak troopers. This is achieved by increasing their level, health, stamina, combat skills and perks. I'm slightly partial to Imperial when it comes to buffs. The difference isn't huge, and an engagement won't be a one-sided affair. I'm a Royals fan, sue me.

The secondary goal is to rename all Imperial soldiers found in the game. Imperial troops found in camps, fortresses, and random encounters have been renamed Imperial Veterans. This is done to reflect their status as fully fledged soldiers of the Imperial Legion. The Imperial soldiers who took over peacekeeping duties in captured cities were renamed Imperial Auxiliaries. A quick conversation with an Imperial Guard in a reclaimed city will tell you that they are local militia, not imported military personnel.

The third goal is the smallest. Imperial Legionnaires are frontline troops. Therefore, they are better equipped than the auxiliary troops. All Imperial veterans now generate Riveted Imperial Armor and Imperial Light Shields. It always bothers me that Bethesda chose not to include shields in their level lists. Imperial Auxiliary Troops spawn Imperial Light Armor without shields. They are guards, not regulars. The shield will only be an obstacle to the peacekeepers, and there's no need to waste perfectly good mail on rear echelon militia.

I should go to bed now, I go to work in the morning. I should complete the course before completing this work. Beyond that, there's probably a lot that should be done. I made poor choices.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
