About this mod Machine translation
Changed equipment generation for both sides of the Civil War to be more realistic and immersive.
This mod is a completely rebuilt and updated version of Cooktastraphy's Immersive Civil War Units mod, featuring bug fixes, tweaks, and more. Thank you for giving him the basis for this mod.
describe:
Have you ever wondered why the Imperial Legions (the Imperial armies that conquered (almost) the entire continent) are so pathetic? Or why are the fur gear and armor worn by the rebel militias under the mighty Jarl, the Stormtroopers with the power of speech, weaker than leather? This mod diversifies and completely revitalizes the equipment of both sides of the civil war, making them a little less scary and immersive. It's based on Cooktastraphy's mod Immersive Civil War Troops with some fixes and tweaks. Here's what has changed:
Starting with the Legions, there are now three different types of Imperial soldiers:
Medium: These are the standard infantry in the legion. They are the most common and make up most of the empire's strength. They were equipped with heavy Imperial boots, gauntlets, and helmets, and were adorned with studded light armor, light shields, Imperial swords, Imperial bows, and steel arrows.
Light Infantry: Light infantry are able to move in and out of the battlefield quickly and scout the battlefield, and have fewer troops than standard medium infantry. They are equipped with full light Imperial armor, Imperial swords, Imperial bows and steel arrows.
Heavy: These are powerful heavy troops, fully equipped and capable of all-out combat, and are the least common soldiers you'll encounter. They are equipped with full heavy Imperial armor and full Imperial helmet, heavy Imperial shield, Imperial sword, Imperial bow and steel arrows.
Officers remain unchanged, although the Legislature will now wear officer helmets.
Tullius remains unchanged.
The statistics of British equipment have also been adjusted:
-Light Imperial Armor has been buffed.
-Diamond-encrusted Imperial Armor is slightly stronger than Light Imperial Armor.
-The Imperial Light Shield has been slightly polished.
-Heavy English gears are now as strong as steel.
Now, for the Stormcloaks, they're even more diverse:
All Stormtroopers will wear their Tempest Breastplate with pride, but that's where the similarities end. Stormcloaks will now come with more types of equipment:
Steel, Hide, Iron, Scales, Furs and Old Norse armor and shields (as there are no scale shields as they don't exist) are now randomly assigned to Stormcloaks. (Not including breastplates, which still have to look like Stormcloaks.)
Weapons they use include (two-handed and one-handed) steel, iron, and ancient beasts.
Tempest Officers can now spawn with Ancient Beasts and Honed Ancient Norse weapons, and Stormtrooper generals in camps will now wear Officer Helmets.
Ulfric remains unchanged.
Statistics for Stormcloak gear have also been adjusted:
-Storm Breastplate is slightly stronger.
-Stormcloak officer's armor is slightly polished.
balance:
The balance now depends on what items the Stormcloaks spawn and how many Heavy Imperial Troopers spawn. So if there are 10 Stormcloaks and 4 of them have two handed weapons and only 1 or 2 heavy armored imperial spawns then the stormcloaks will win, but if 4 heavy imperial soldiers spawn and there are only 2 stormcloaks with two handed weapons the empire will win. About 15 battles were tested and both sides had roughly the same winning rate, with 2-5 remaining for the winner.
What I changed from the original mod:
-No more naked Stormcloaks! Fixed an oversight in the Creation Kit containing some unique Stormcloak outfits that were missing the appropriate nodes.
-Added heavily armored Imperial troops to the Imperial spawn list, since they have been changed but not implemented yet, and because Stormcloaks have a better chance of winning for me.
-Added some equipment for Stormcloaks and adjusted their equipment spawn rate.
-Changed t …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
