Install...

  • Requirements... Install these mods via your favorite mod manager:-

SKSE

ENB Helper SE

Recommended but optional ENB Light

  • Clear any previous ENB installation.
  • Download the latest Skyrim SE ENB package. ENB SSE homepage download (click the highest version number at the bottom of the page).
  • Extract only the two .dll files in the WrapperVersion folder and place them in the Skyrim root folder (the same folder as SkyrimSE.exe and SkyrimSELauncher.exe).
  • Download this preset (manually).
  • Extract the files (and enbseries folder) to the Skyrim root folder (not the data).

Start SKSE normally.

Note: Skyrim takes a while to build shaders when it starts. A completely black screen for ten seconds or more is normal.

INI settings...

BethINI does a great job of optimizing your INI settings. I use BethINI Ultra with recommended settings.

Turn off Ambient Occlusion. ENB does this instead. Leaving it on will not affect or improve image quality.

Recommended visual modes...

Listed here are some "basic" graph model suggestions...

ENB Light adds ENB composite particle lighting to various light sources. Major improvements in lighting. Highly recommended.

Special edition Particle Patch all-in-one machine. Fixed many materials to behave this way. ENB controls wind/snow streaks and interior fog. Highly recommended.

SSE engine fixes. Greatly improve game stability and speed by fixing core bugs. Recommended for all SSE retrofits.

Majestic mountains with very nice rock and moss and improved snow system. Looks good. Do not select the north or south shading options as those will break ENB's time detection.

Static Mesh Improvements Mod brings tons of improvements to a lot of awesome objects.

Skyland Skyland scenery textures are very smooth and look good

Skyland Imperial Forts. Lovely stone moss effect.

Skyrim HD LODs - Dark and Grass versions. Oldrim, but working in SE. Install manually. Make distant terrain blend in and look natural. "Darker and Grassy" is for grass models. Highly recommended.

Noble Skyrim. Huge texture pack. Great urban textures. There are other more specific texture mods that cover this.

Rudy HQ Nordic Ruins. Great ruins texture.

Underground Nice Caves, Mines, Fortresses and Dwemer Ruin Textures (and others) from the author of Majestic Mountains.

DynDOLOD. Huge improvement for distant objects. Something to learn, but worth the effort.

Others you can check out: High Poly Projects, Unofficial Material Fixes, Skyrim's Awesome Statues, Other Retexture Projext, Enhanced Ore Veins for CC

Trees: My personal favorite is Simply Bigger Trees with HQ Tree Bark, but there are many excellent tree and vegetation models out there. 3D trees and 3D landscapes are well made.

Green grass looks great, but it's performance. Plump grass is a good choice. Veydosebrom reappears on and is excellent.

Anti-aliasing...

There are currently three post-processing anti-aliasing methods available.

ENB Edge: Reasonable quality and very …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
