Instructions for creating icons in the SkyUI header.

Russia:

I've shared instructions on how to add an icon to any menu, like my example...

It's possible to do this too, but I won't analyze it in detail...

So, for myself, I recreated all the clothes from mods and vanilla along the way...

We will analyze everything in order from the beginning... During the analysis I will recommend fashion and software, because in my opinion they are more suitable and best, but this does not mean that there are no analogues.

Some subtleties... I have my own mod storage organization and my own naming convention. That way nothing you see in the screenshots will confuse you...

If interested, let's get started...

What we really need...:

  • Any Mod Manager that is convenient for you. I use Mod Organizer 2 and I recommend you...I will show it above...
  • Any file manager depends on your system. I use TotalCMD and it may appear in the screenshot.
  • Skyrim font in SWF format. We will work with him.

My favorite is Sovngarde. We'll do it on it... On the Download tab, it has Desktop Edition, but I'm not going to disassemble it just to not skip steps...

Download Bold and Light versions...

  • JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler. To decompile fonts.
  • Program for editing fonts. The best option is FontCreator. The plan is already paid, but there are similar ones, there are other options... google help... but I will show it exactly...
  • SkyrimFontGen. The instructions are there, but I'll show a few things in my example.
  • SkyUI

The process itself:

1.0 Install downloaded fonts in MO2. Starting from version 2, they are not compatible with each other and we install them in different folders. Then we create another mod to save our changes. In my MO2 it looks like this:

The font I plan to make will be stored in the folder "07 F0 02 A1Z in-font.se_Sovngarde Bold & Light 8.5 - Icon". This folder is now empty.

2.0 Install JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler, and then install FD. You have to install a version for your system or use an archive, I would do...

2.1 Run FD. Open fonts_sovngarde.swf in the BOLD variant. Go to Fonts in the left pane and see the following image:

This is our dream font! We will work with him.

Now drag the fonts folder to the location where this version of the font is installed, or click on Fonts and RMB and "Export Selection" on the fonts on the right side of the window. Select TTF variation.

2.2 Repeat step 2.1 for the Light version font in its folder.

2.3 Close FD.

3.0 I believe you are "sneaky" and you have installed FontCreator for yourself. Open the Bold version of the font. I immediately renamed it "SovngardeBold.ttf"

3.1 Let's change the properties now to avoid confusion in the future. Click "Alt + Enter"

and shown in the picture.

3.2 Now we need to add a character that is not used in the font. Insert - character. In the window that opens, select "Show font" with more characters. I changed them to use symbols that are easy to remember. For example, Malgun Gothic Semilight, MS Pgothic, Yu Gothic UI. at the end and stop. Enter $2464 in the "Go to code point" field, if you see the same thing as me then you can continue...

3.3 What do we do with the icon? Let's weigh it up, for example...let the Weight icon be the $2,464 symbol. Select it and click the mouse 2 times on the symbol, or click the "Add" button in the window. We have specified characters in our font.

In order not to come back to it later, I recommend that you right-click on the symbol and copy it to the clipboard.

Now insert it, for example in Notepad++, even though it is not defined there as a selected character. Let the lie...

3.4 Now it's time to find the icon...how about telling? Yandex, Google or what else do you have…

You have to understand that we want monotonous icons, so make a list of words yourself that you want to change to make it look presentable. The lines should not be thin or thick. And don't forget about style and Laura...)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
