HyperPatch – Effects
about
I've always felt that certain aspects of Skyrim needed tweaking, so I made my own mods that changed those things. It already contains many different variations and has motivated me to create mods for more things. I'm sharing the simplest variations now. I would like to make more mods in the future, but it will depend on whether there is demand and support to do this. I have more content to post and more ideas that I'll keep working on, but it takes a lot of work [for me] to make the mod look professional and word-descriptive - like this one. . describe
These changes include enchantments, magic effects, and game mechanic tweaks, but really cover much more. I'll list some of the changes here, but I'll document the rest in the downloaded excel file.
Storm Thralls (and Mighty Storm Thrall) now use chain lightning
Rename all instances of "corundum" to "copper"
The unique charm of Silverblood series rings, which can use silver more effectively
Ward charges twice as fast
Alchemy effect is 2x stronger (skill 2x stronger = 100)
Argonians can swim faster than other races
Hagravens can use Frost Cloak, Hagraven Drain (basically vampire drain), and summon Ice Ghost
Unused dragon soul empowers the shout
Fixed physical spell scroll being as powerful as its spell counterpart
Allies won't say "Stupid dog!", non-allies will say 50% of the time
Summon Anil's Shadow is now a proper main spell (casting time, casting cost, xp), duration increased from 60 seconds to 180 seconds
Battle Cry only affects enemies
Adds weight and value to focusing gloves (same as Mystic Tuning Gloves)
The Master Illusion spell now has the "ritual spell" keyword
Added magic inventory art for various spells/powers/effects
Added 2 new levels to the Iron Fist for 2x the extra damage and 3x the gauntlet's armor rating
Wear all head coverings with circles/face shields
Fixed Psiijic's clothes. "Psijic" clothing now has proper weight and value
Female NPCs always use female animations + various tweaks/fixes
USSEP Return: Auriel's bow no longer counts as a Daedric artifact for the Oblivion Walker achievement
Edited stats and enchantments for several weapons and clothing (notably some Daedric weapons and Dragon Priest Masks)
Improved white plant effect
Contempt religious blessings, as well as some perks, shouts and standing stones
If you don't have some of the mods I use, some of the changes I made seem inconsistent. While you certainly don't need them, this mod doesn't require them so I haven't listed them as requirements. More on that in the Recommended section.
Require
This mod requires all official dlc (obviously, this is SE, so you have all official dlc) and USSEP (unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch). I could make this mod not require USSEP without too much trouble, but I would highly recommend USSEP anyway, and I feel like the mod wouldn't make much sense without USSEP. It seems to me that if you're not going to fix all the bugs that the unofficial patches fixed, why would you make the changes in this version? There's no reason not to use USSEP, and if it changes something you don't like (which isn't unreasonable, since it changes some things I don't like, and most of the things I don't like are covered by this mod anyway) you can easily make a revert patch or install an existing patch. It's fairly easy to use SSEEdit if you need help making one yourself, ask anyone, myself included.
Recommended
As for what I said in the Description section about other mods that aren't necessarily required, it's hard to list every mod that looks consistent with my mods since it's a bit of a matter of opinion. However, I will list these specifically:
Realistic weapons achieved
WeightOV (Just Balance - Potions and Books - BCS)
Dragonborn delay (version after Dragonslayer)
Remember, these are not requirements. You can play complete …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
