Hym is an evil ethereal entity of unknown nature, resembling a tall, elongated floating shadow with long arms with sharp claws, a horned head and spikes along its spine. It is particularly powerful because it does not attack its target outright, but instead plays on the target's guilt or lust for power, in the first case torturing them into complete insanity or suicide, or inducing them to become evil or, in the second case, a tyrannical way of achieving such power.
Hym is a spiritual follower whose being with a person can be seen as a form of possession. Monsters most often name innocents as their victims: tardy businessmen, reckless children, and travelers wandering the dark woodlands out of misplaced curiosity. However, none of the above need worry about being shy. These ghosts can only target particularly despicable people who have committed some unspeakable crime or have an unusual lust for power and/or authority. To all others, they remain completely invisible. When they do reveal themselves to the one they are tormenting, they appear as a tall, shadowed humanoid silhouette with long, sharp claws, as previously stated. However, the hymn does not draw these claws into the hands of its victims. Instead, they directly weaken their power by causing pain or more ambition and selfish contempt. It is only the voices that the victim hears that drive him to violent, selfish, aggressive and/or self-destructive behavior. A hymn would seize upon a sinful man's worst fears or embarrassments of power, and weave from them horrific visions, slowing down the drive of the poor soul to madness, or into a shameless selfishness. Those tortured by the hymn cannot rest because they are tormented by more frequent, mind-boggling nightmares of reality, Or because of their constant dream of achieving selfish goals with glory. Sometimes the victim will become extremely nervous, shouting cheers or threats from the unseen apparition, or confessing his guilt out loud in the hope that this will end his torment. However, this act brings no relief as the hym will not leave until it completely overwhelms the victim's intelligence or drives him to suicide. This is the main goal in both cases, as Hym always kills his prey as his main goal, sometimes he just waits for more and does it through more indirect means.
You don't know the effects of when a person roars a Hym, if you kill a person in combat then the Hym will emerge from the corpse and engage you in the battle where they are terrifying with their sharp claws and ability to partially freeze the space in the area they are in as well as the dark magic they use.
In main quests, db quests, thieves guild quests, cw quests and mage quests you will find unique Hym with important characters. They are not evil, just people with authoritarian tendencies who sometimes have good intentions, but their desires make them prey to certain hyms. Beyond that, you'll find Hym possessing random crazy people, having a lot of guilt, and being close to suicide. Sometimes, a bandit lord with a strong lust for power also possesses a Hym.
Remember, a Hym does not necessarily control the actions of a possessed person, he simply increases the desire for power or guilt over the person already possessed and feeds off of them.
Depending on the stage of possession, the person has complete control over her actions, only interacting with Hym in a very chaotic and vulnerable wa …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
