About this mod Machine translation
A decidedly friendly texture overhaul for Horncandles.
This is a HD (main) horncandles texture, which you can find in the "textures\clutter\candles" folder. There are other lighter options in the download section.
These candles come with different supports - you can find them everywhere in the game - and I didn't find an HD version that satisfied me enough, so I tried to make my own. What's more difficult with this texture is the seams.
In the end... Gladiator Wins..., there are also some slight seams that aren't that noticeable by default, and it relies on reflections, at least on my screen.
The package contains only two files, the diffuse reflection map horncandles01.dds and the normal map horncandles01_n.dds. In that folder is the vanilla glow map horncandles01_g.dds, which I left out because it worked fine by default so I didn't include it in the package. You have installed the game.
Both files have been boosted and work at 2048x4096 (they are 512x1024). They are not 4k in the heaviest packages because they have a rectangular shape so only one side meets the 4k.
I like to keep the shots as stunning as possible, but they have to be a little different and I use free angle photography to capture true colors and textures. In the game, as a glowing thing, it looks different in every situation, depending on your settings. I'm not using any light mods right now, if not "Shadows" (HHaleyy very nice mod) and "RealVision ENB" (made by SkyrimTuner), but there are no recommended/necessary light mod companions.
The grids are not touched, they are not inside the bag.
This is a very "little" job (not something I took the time to do) that I did some time ago and I thought it might be smashed and released. I think, even though they are few, I will do a separate release for each of my contributions, for two reasons: firstly because I don't have a good upload connection speed, and if I have time to update one of the files, I won't spend too much time packaging and uploading a heavy package due to a single file. Second, because I prefer a complete installation file rather than separate updates, which brings me to point one. Sorry about that. Maybe I'll merge them all with a unique page when and if they become numerous, or, when I'm sure I won't be updating them anymore, I'll release a complete version. Thank you for your understanding.
You can preview the results by viewing screenshots. They are referring to the "incomplete" 4k version.
Comments and suggestions are always very welcome. Thanks for all the suggestions, comments, downloads and endorsements of my first released mod, Draugr. Feedback is crucial.
have fun!

download:
There are three packages for this mod. The smaller format doesn't seem that good to me, not even as good as the default vanilla texture (vanilla is 512x1024) to be honest. Just in high definition they give me a very obvious better aspect:
2048x4096 compressed diffuse and 2048x4096 compressed normal map.
2048x4096 compressed diffuse and 1024x2048 compressed normal map.
Added upon request: 1024x2048 compressed diffuse map and 512x1024 compressed normal map.
Installation and uninstallation:
As a user, they are 7zipped fomod installer.
compatibility:
There are no compatibility issues with textures. If you have some different grids installed then they don't work as expected. It works with the great and famous "SMIM" mod (Brumbek), the author changed the Chandeliers mesh to support five other meshes in meshes\clutter\candles, named candlehorn*.nif, and was not touched by his mod.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
