Hephaestus - Simple crafting overhaul

Hephaestus is a simple crafting overhaul. With compatibility in mind, it tries to enhance your crafting experience while staying close to vanilla without changing or adding too much.

• Certain crafting recipes have been changed to be more consistent with the appearance of crafted items

• Fur armor can now be crafted (no special treatment required)

• Added recipe for making Linen Wrap as it is now a required ingredient in some new recipes

• Added recipe for making Lockpicks (no extra cost)

• Added recipes for making silver swords and greatswords (required for Iron Smith perk)

• Added recipes for crafting Silver Arrows and Bolts (requires Steel Smithing perk). Both arrows and bolts deal extra damage to undead, vampires, werewolves, and ghosts. For more information see my mod Silver Arrows

• Added recipes for melting armor and weapons into ingots. Only the body part of the armor, only the sword and the great word can be melted to maintain some balance. Generally speaking, Chest Armor and Greatswords will give you 2 ingots, and swords will give you 1 ingot.

• Added a recipe for steel ingots that combine iron ore with charcoal. You can produce charcoal by burning firewood in the smelter

• Added recipes for making silver and gold ingots by melting simple silver and gold rings/necklaces at the smelter

• Added recipes for breaking down leather, leather and leather armor into leather strips on tanning racks

• Many recipes have been added for crafting armor for various factions in the game. Most recipes require the Advanced Armor perk and being a member of that specific faction/guild. Added more specific recipes:

a) The non-magical version of the Dark Brotherhood armor (light and robes). You must be a member of the guild

b) Magic-free versions of Thieves Guild armor (basic and guild master). You must be a member of the guild. Guild Master's Armor becomes available after completing the "New Management" mission

c) Blade armor and weapons. Available after the mission "Alduin's Wall"

d) Companion Wolf Armor. You must be a member of the guild

e) Dawnguard armor and weapons. You must join Dawnguard. Available after the "New Order" task

f) Unfinished versions of the Archdemon's robes and boots. Available after completing the Mages Guild questline

g) Vampire armor if joining Volkihar Vampire Clan. A non-magical Vampire Royal Armor can be crafted after completing the Dawnguard questline.

h) Magic-free versions of Nightingale armor and weapons. Available after the "Trinity Restored" mission

i) Imperial armor and weapons if joining the Imperial Legion

j) Your Stormcloak armor after adding normal and officer armor

compatibility:

Hephaestus was created with a view to compatibility. Because vanilla records very few changes, it should be compatible with most mods.

Generally speaking, it will conflict with any mod that modifies the same vanilla recipes that Hephaestus does

Creating a bashed/smashed patch is highly recommended, especially if you have many mods that modify the game's container records.
