Before reaching Atmora in the far north there is an island called Roscrea, and far to the east from that place there is a lonely and icy island called Hellegl.
A place of extreme cold, protected by perpetual blizzards, no ship can sail near the area, not even protected by any powerful spells. The only way in and out of the island is known only to the residents.
Helegel is ruled by Thangithil, a tall and powerful humanoid who serves as the island's military and religious leader. In some cases, he will organize a small company of his knights and send them to Tamriel to investigate and spy on the world, why he does this is unknowable.
For those knights, the special steel sword was forged and concocted by Thangithil himself, using the mysterious cold storm magic, through which the blade became enchanted by it, with a deadly ice surrounding it.
This weapon has Dark Souls upgrade style, please refer to the following materials:
NOTE: This weapon cannot be tuned, all upgrades are done on Anvils and Blacksmith Forges.
Upgrading to +1 costs: 1 Helegel Straight Sword, 3 Silver Ingots and 1 Small Soul Gem (refill)
Upgrade to +2 Cost: 1 Helegel Straight Sword +1, 5 Silver Ingots and 1 Small Soul Gem (refill)
Upgrade to +3 Cost: 1 Helegel Straight Sword +2, 3 Mercury Bars and 1 Normal Soul Gem (refill)
Upgrade to +4 Cost: 1 Helegel Straight Sword +3, 5 Mercury Bars and 1 Large Soul Gem (refill)
Upgrade to +5 Cost: 1 Helegel Straight Sword +4, 1 Centurion Dynamo Core and 1 Grand Soul Gem (filled)
Blade was also captivated by the Frostbite polished using Chillrend Enchant FX.
As the blade progresses, the wards become stronger, see below:
Helenge Straight Sword +0 = 25 points of frost/stamina damage and 20% slow motion (enemies)
Helenge Straight Sword +1 = 30 points of frost/stamina damage and 25% slow motion (enemies)
Helenge Straight Sword +2 = 35 points of frost/stamina damage and 30% slow motion (enemies)
Helegel Straight Sword +3 = 40 points of frost/stamina damage and 35% slow motion (enemies)
Helenge Straight Sword +4 = 45 points of frost/stamina damage and 40% slow motion (enemies)
Helenge Straight Sword +5 = 50 points of frost/stamina damage and 45% slow motion (enemies)
The enchantment cost is also very low, more like a permanent enchantment like Dark Souls.
This weapon can be found in the Ironbind Overlook, an unmarked Dwemer location at the end of the Ironbind Barrow dungeon, overlooking the top of a hill to the left of the dungeon exit.
Take a look:
To get here, you have to go through the entire dungeon, or, if you also have a spider horse, you can climb up here. But I wouldn't recommend it, it's not that immersive.
For those of you who have played Dark Souls, when you arrive at the Overlook, you'll notice items that don't look like much at first glance.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
