My personal height edit.

The first chart in the images section compares Morrowind and Skyrim height values to my mods for quick and easy reference.

height adjustment

Male: I started with the Morrowind height values and then slightly changed the Bretons, Dunmer and Khajiit so no match was exactly the same height. Dunmer is slightly taller (1.01), Khajiit is slightly shorter (0.99), and Bretons are slightly shorter (0.98). The only male whose height has not changed is Imperial (remaining at 1.00).

Women: Excluding Bosmer, women of every race are shorter than men (by .02). Thus, Argonians, Bretons, Khajiit, and Nords have a small increase in height, while Dunmer, Imperials, and Orcs have a slight decrease. Bosmer females are shorter than all other races (0.03 shorter than Breton females), but are still taller than Bosmer males (as of .05). The only women whose heights did not change were Altmer and Redguards (remaining at 1.08 and 1.00 respectively).

Children: Northern boys maintain the default height (0.80), while Northern girls are slightly shorter (0.79). After them, the Redguards are the tallest children (.02 less than the Nords), followed by the Imperials (.01 less than the Redguards), and finally the Bretons (.01 less than the Imperials).

Additionally, related races have had their height values modified to match (affected heights are the same as Breton, Snow Elf is the same as Altmer, etc.).

=OPTIONAL FILE=

Height Adjustment - RBM Compatible

Same as the main file, but this one changes the file path for each racial skeleton to match the path used in OHSB's Racial Body Morphs mod. You will need the skeletal mesh from his mod, but you can disable his esp and use mine. This should work with any of his files (Subtle, Standard or Extreme), but works best with his Subtle files (which I personally use). The second chart in the images section compares the height values in my mod to the values in each of its files.

Height Adjustment - Seniors

This file can be used in addition to the main or optional files. In Morrowind and Oblivion, NPCs of all races are the same regardless of age. However, Skyrim has added a separate Elder Race for certain Elder NPCs, which has its own height value (defaults to 1 for both genders). This file matches the height of an Elder Race NPC to the height of its actual race (Nord, Imperial or Breton).

First, I matched the Elder Race's height values to the Nord Race's height values. Since most Elder NPCs are Nords (around 30-40), this eliminates the need to edit quite a few NPCs and the need to upload USLEEP and CRF dependent versions (both of which modify some Nord Elder NPCs). I then changed the recorded heights of the individual NPCs for the Elders Bretons and Imperials (there were only about 10 in total), and those values were multiplied with the Elder Race's heights to produce the appropriate heights (or as close as possible without going over).

Race height x NPC height = total height (if you don't know)

Below is a modified list of elderly NPCs and the height values used.

Male Brittany: Donnel, Jouane Manette and Nepos the Nose (0.924528 *1.06≈0.98)

Male Empire: Crescius Caerellius, Festus Krex, Palevius Lex, Rogatus Salvius and Septimus Signus (0.943396 *1.06≈1.00)

Female Empire: Silvia and Vigdis Salvius (0.942307 *1.04≈0.98)

NOTE: Due to the way I made this file, any Elder Race NPCs with default NPC height values added by mods will be as tall as Nords, which may not be appropriate if they aren't supposed to be Nords (unless you want them to be ridiculously tall. This is the main reason why this is a separate file (also because some people may not necessarily want a lot of really tall old men running around)).

=Install and load orders=

To install, use the "Mod Manager Download" button or the "Manual Download" button and extract the download into the main Skyrim SE directory. If you use it, any files used should be loaded after the …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
