Introduction

Welcome to my movie character "Taarna" from Heavy Metal (1981). I saw this movie in the theater as a kid (I know, were my parents stupid?), and while I loved all of the anthology stories in the movie, it was The Legend of Taarna that totally grabbed me, near the end of the movie. Clearly this is the best segment of all (followed by the B-17 segment).

This mod is still under development. I'm still a budding modder trying to improve what I can offer the community. Please expect bugs or issues when I make this mod available in BETA release. I'm sorry when I ask the community to be my testers, but honestly, that's what it is - I'm asking. Since I'm a bit of a loner, I don't really have any friends in the community to help me. My request to the community is that you please be patient and allow me to respond promptly to any issues I find.

I plan to add quests and more stories to this mod in the future.

Finally, this is only the second Skyrim SE mod I'm releasing. My first task was to repackage all my LE mods into a single mod in SE. As far as I'm concerned, this is a huge mistake. Why? Well, what most people don’t know is that all of these armors have been converted to SE and even come with one or more separate recolors. This includes other modders who later released the same armor as the single mod. Ha ha! So I really messed up. I titled the Mod Legendary Armor Conversions and Recolors, but unless you look at the mod's description, there's no other indication that LE armor is included. learned knowledge. I will do better. More below.

Backstory:

"A shadow will fall across the universe. Evil will grow in its path. Death will come from the sky."

Thus begins the Taarna legend, where the evil entity "Lok-Nar" falls from the sky as a giant green meteor, crashing into the mountains and seeping green liquid across the landscape. Infected with Lok-Nar's evil, the green liquid infects the local village chiefs and their entire people, and begins brutally killing everyone in its path (with no other targets, really), terrorizing the surrounding area.

In a nearby city that is under attack by these mutant villagers, we find ourselves watching the city's elders summon a champion known only as a legend, the last of a race of defenders called the Talak. These defenders were called up in times of war and apparently they did a good job since these city dwellers didn't know how to fight alone or even use weapons. The real problem is that there has been no war for so long that the Talak are now nothing more than a myth. The summons was completed, but our champion failed to arrive in time. The champion is a mysterious and beautiful woman known as Taarna, who arrives in a city filled with corpses hacked to pieces by the invaders.

Defense: This is the convention. But when a life is lost, its value becomes priceless - then Covenant is Revenge.

After the grim discovery, Taarna continues to seek revenge on the people of the city.

She tracks down some of the killers and finds symbols on their gear that are identical to those caught in the hands of an elder in the village of the dead. After an argument in a bar where she visits where the killer beat local people, Taarna forces the bar owner to tell her the location of the intruder.

On the way to the camp, she was captured and tortured, but managed to escape and kill the chief who was leading the mutant army. She then sacrifices her life by sacrificing her own life, fueled by a burst of power from her sword Novera.

This is where her story in Tamriel begins. At the end of the Heavy Metal film, it becomes clear that a new Taarna was born to replace Taarna. Although Taarna appears to have pe …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
