If you're like me and disappointed with vanilla horses, then this mod is for you. This mod replaces the vanilla horse skeleton with a new custom skeleton designed to give the Horse of Skyrim a more realistic and traditional look similar to Fjord Horse Breed. Working within the confines of the vanilla mesh, I thinned the limbs, enlarged the neck and made some subtle changes to the horse. The result is a fjord horse that will immerse you even more into the world of Skyrim. This affects all horses in Skyrim.

[[[MOD COMPATIBILITY]]]

Heartland Horses uses a custom skeleton for the vanilla horse and will override any mods that change the vanilla horse's skeleton. Mods that make radical changes to Vanilla Skeletons (such as "Realistic Ragdoll and Force") should be compatible as long as "Heartland Horses" is installed after these mods and its files are allowed to be overwritten.

Should be fully compatible with any texture mod, as this mod does not contain its own skeleton-only textures. This also makes it compatible with most other creature models that don't edit vanilla skeletons.

[[[INSTALLATION]]]

It is recommended to use Mod Manager or your favorite mod manager.

Install Heartland Horses after any mods that change vanilla horses, then click "Yes to all" when prompted to overwrite any files.

There is no "esp plugin" for this mod.

Since there are so many great horse mods out there, and as a Christmas gift to the community, I decided to make this mod a modders resource, so this mod can be integrated into other modders by other modders!

Please abandon this page and do not use it for paid mods under any circumstances.
