About this mod Machine translation

This mod provides "Vanilla+" changes to many of the houses of Winterhold NPCs, ranging from subtle tweaks to reimaginings.

My initial goal was to tweak certain college NPCs like Phinis and Arniel, Faralda and Nirya, and Colette and Mirabelle so that they were easier to tell from a distance, saving players the right time when searching for college trainers or merchants. Like many other stencils before me, I started having fun tweaking the face, so I tweaked and tweaked until I was happy.

This mod contains edits for Phinis, Arniel, Faralda, Nirya, Colette, Mirabelle, Onmund, J'zargo and Brelyna. It only has vanilla hair and no external dependencies. Three apprentices have transitioned to hoodless variations of their costumes. Mirabelle has been given the master's robe, while Nirya is wearing the robe.

The archive contains an installer that allows you to choose a version based on other mods you have installed. All plugins are in ESP-FE format. The files included in the archive are loose as this reduces the chance of facial errors, so manual installation or use of NMM is not recommended.

I've included several variations that merge my facial changes with planned changes to skills, stats, or other modes. While the provided version only supports one of the mods at a time, advanced users should be able to create custom versions using xEdit so that you can use stats from one mod, stats from another mod, and stats from a third, and my face.

Additional instructions:

This mod is designed to be used with Obscure's Winterhold version 1.4.06 and above. If you are still using an earlier version, please consider updating.

WACCF's armor and clothing extensions cover my down clothing no matter where you are in the load order.

The fixes provided by Seamless Males are helpful, but there still seems to be a texture mismatch between some characters' heads and bodies. It seems to be there no matter which texture pack I use; even vanilla. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Shiva182 gave me a lot of advice when I was first learning face editing, how to avoid mistakes, what resources to collect and how the whole system works.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
