This mod is also compatible with Legendary Edition and VR, so you can install it for either of them if you wish.
Notes on Legendary: Legendary seems to have a weird quirk with the main menu theme and is quieter than Special Edition. This may be due to compression.
Recently, I downloaded an older version of the Dragonborn alternative and thought to myself. "I thought it would be better to use the Darius theme." So I converted Darius' original Login music and liked the way it ended. It's a dark, gritty, and violent version that's perfect for my Skyrim special edition.
Installation is really simple, just drag the contents into the Data folder and be done with it. Make sure to back up any themes you may be currently using as it will be overwritten.
The path is Data>Music>Special>mus_maintheme.xwm

- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
