describe
This mod is intended to be used in conjunction with mods such as the Landscape Modifier Grass mod, but can also be used on its own. If you are using the Grass Mod's landscape fix, you will still need this mod. Landscape Fixes for Grass Mods only has patches for the more popular Subsidence Mods and does not include newer mods, less popular mods, or unreleased mods. It does have a "Universal Grass Limiter" which does the same thing as "No Grass", but without the "Grass" covering more of the land texture. No Grassias solved the problem by restoring the land texture to its original state. It doesn't change the grassy texture. This means that areas that should have grass will still be filled with grass, but areas such as settlements, caves, clearings, and roads will have less grass. This mod does not resolve grass issues caused by high grass density, tall grass, vanilla clipping issues, or custom land textures. For this, you will need Grass Mod’s Landscape Repair. The results of using this mod will vary depending on which mod you use. This mod can be added or removed at any time.
There is some confusion about this mod and its usage, so I'll try to simplify it here. Grassias does not solve problems caused by grass mods. It doesn't solve the vanilla problem. Some grass adds grass to land textures that don't already have grass. This makes the wilderness look great, with grass everywhere. However, it is the opposite of player housing and settlement areas. ITM creating vanilla land textures without Grassias. When you load it after Grass Mod, it will undo the changes made by Grass Mod. To simplify things, grass members throw grass seeds and fertilizer into the sky. This makes the wilderness look good, but makes the settlements look less good. No grassias means, "No thanks." Spread over the grass seeds so that only fertilizer is spread. The result is that areas that originally had grass will have taller and taller grass, but areas without grass will remain grass-free. No Grassias is a universal solution and will not affect all of Skyrim. If the player house or settlement mod is created with the correct land texture, there should be no issues. No landscape or cell editing will take place without Grassias, So it won't fix vanilla issues or issues caused by Grass Mods using custom land textures. For these problems, you need Grass Mod’s Landscape Repair. This mod allows throwing grass seeds and fertilizer. Then go to the specific area, mow the grass, and then spray the grass and herbicide. You can see this in the screenshot of the mod's mod page. It used to be green and some areas that used to have grass are now just dust. This method is more specific than No Grassias and will produce better results. The downside is that each problematic player house or settlement mod requires a separate patch. So you still don't need No Grassias until the mod's author decides to create a patch for every single player home or settlement mod available.
Require
A grass mod that adds grass to nograss land textures. This mod will not do any good for grass mods that do not add grass to the nograss land texture.
Installation and use
Add archive content to the Data directory manually or using a mod manager. Place it after the grass mod in the loading order. Enable the mod and play. This mod only needs to be loaded after the grass mod. Loading it before or after Grass Mods' Landscape Fix will have no effect. If you notice anything different, it's because grass doesn't generate the same way every time.
There are two recommended steps for using No Grassias. The first one will have the highest compatibility.
Get started by using NoGrassias.esp. If this doesn't solve the problem, try NoGrassias Extended. If that doesn't solve the problem, try NoGrassias Ultim …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
